Odds on favourite to be next manager in the wake of McLaren turning it down. Thoughts? Surely better than McLaren, no-one needs to comment as to whether he's better than Pardew or (snigger) Carver.

I guess, like Mitrovic, it's likely to be bollox, and neither could feasibly happen without being in the PL - cynic in me thinks PR spin is at work to give false sense of optimism ahead of Saturday....

If there was even a chance that this was true I would take him.

I wanted him instead of Pardew a couple of months ago and I would still take him.

He gets the best out of the players he has at his disposal and we have to be realistic, he is not a world class manager, and nor are we a world class club.

What he is is a solid top half of the table manager who demands a work ethic that we could do with. With the right signings, back room team and SUPPORT from us from the start he will take us up the league table.

He has nothing to lose in coming and everything to prove. His flop at Manu could be a blemish on his record but lets be honest I do not think anyone taking that job straight after sir alex was going to be successful.

Backroom team being the key. We would see the likes of Carver, Stone and Woodman leave the club. Parasites.

Like I say, I'd be tempted to say its spin. The only real news I could find on it came from a troll account on Twitter, the main rumour with Moyes is that he's bound for Upton Park. Or the Olympic Stadium, I suppose.

Sad fact is he's not available right now. He would also potentially be coming in as "plan b" behind McLaren, whereas West Ham will simply say "nope, you were number 1 for us all along", so no brainer.

Odds do mean very little - McLaren went to 1/10 at one point. And as with alll things Newcastle, nothing competent can ever be done by the utter fcking cntfaced fatheaded sh1t for brains tea boy Lee Charnley.

Could probably say the same about some manager in the Albanian 3rd division. Why leave there for us? That's how desperate it's got.

    Agree 100% Windy.
Joking aside the only reason he would come back is to use us as a stepping stone back into the Premier League. I have no problem with that.. but I'd like to think that we could get someone in on a longer term basis.

I wouldn't have a problem with using us as a stepping stone as such. That's how far we have fallen. But, with Moyes I would give him full control. **** Charnley and Graham Carr. Let the manager pick the players he wants.

Every single day of the century. Top top manager, but I can only see him coming if we are in the premier league and he's given at least 30 million to spend.

Steve Round is no better mate, the nodding dog of number 2's. The guy is a top of the range plonker, the players would probably laugh at him from day one.

McClaren's a good option in my opinion. Moyes less so.

The thing is with people like mclaren and moyes, they are both to an extent rebuilding their careers. If i was in their situation i wouldnt even consider us.

I would prefer Moyes to McClaren.
It's not going to happen though. IF we stay up then we could hope to attract a decent Coach.

This is going to be a nightmare run-in.

    It's like car-crash tv...

****ing hell is all I can say. What is wrong with a bit of a modern manager who plays an exciting brand of high pressure football.

Look I think there is a fragility to the likes of McClaren and Moyes because of bad times that will get exposed at this football club. Certainly working under the constraints they'd have to. The fans don't give a **** if the managers hands are tied behind his back, they won't cut you any slack. That's because they have to watch soulless football on a Saturday whoever is in charge. I have a degree of sympathy with even Carver in some respects. He is just the latest patsy.

I think Moyes would certainly have the experience.
He's used to working under little to no budget and developing the youth. Almost a perfect fit you could say with Fatties masterplan.
He's also Scottish so would be a lot closer to home.

Hey, if we could develop the youth for real instead of sitting them in the reserves till they rot then farming them out to the Scottish Championship, I'm all for it. How wrong can a master plan go?

I'd hate Moyes. He's a slightly better version of Pardew. His football is dull, Everton were very route one up to Fellaini and the played off of him from there.

I'd quite like us to go for an unproven manager with a modern outlook on the game. I'd take Garde, Jemez of the foreign names mentioned but I'd also be more than happy with Karl Robinson of MK Dons or Rosler. Rosler did a great job a Brentford, then had a great season with Wigan before getting sacked earlier this season. When he was sacked they were lower mid table, since the ditched him they've dropped like a stone and been relegated.

We can't get a big name so I'd be much happier with someone with something to prove rather than the usual managers that hop on and of the premier league gravy train every season (think Redknapp, Bruce, Allardyce, O'Neill) etc.
