I see the press and opposition fans have wrote off already even though we haven't signed anyone yet, good god, give him a chance, he's going to be a good manager for us and will win trophies for us, i have no doubts about that, he's like a mini fergie interms of he won't take no nonsense from our players and will have a go at his players publicly as well, i've also seen the reaction to the news that Mike Phelan and Eric Steele have left the club, there was going to be change, we have to get use to it, i do hope we don't turn into Chelsea in terms of sacking managers, let's support Moyes and get behind him.
Long have they spoken of his return, it was stated in the scriptures and lo, what the lord have said has come to be true. Matth is back, please don't ban him. He is a ****ing legend.
Anyway, I agree. Moyes will do alright for a few years at least, SAF has laid some strong foundations. I suppose the test will be how he handles a tough patch, like a 1-6 loss at OT (not that I see that happening again in a while), and we'll see what the squad looks like with a dozen or so Moyes signings in there. Time will tell, I reckon you'll not do as well in the next 20 years as you did in the past 20, but there's no disgrace in that.
I don't think anyone can really expect the same success that Sir Alex brought but I can't see him doing badly. He's just inherited a championship winning squad and has money to spend on improvements. I don't get the comparisons to other managers that have won stuff at the richer clubs, I personally don't see how anyone could have done any better than he has at Everton. Maybe a one of FA cup win but you always need a decent amount of luck as well as playing well to win a cup competition.
United fans expecting another PL title in Moyes first season or would you be happy to be top 3 and build from that? Moyes'll come good, he's a smart manager, but I don't see him being successful in his first or second season at least whilst he fits into a new club with very different expectations. If he keeps you within touching distance for those two years, I think he'll be set (unfortunately).
I think you have to accept that there will be some kind of transition period, so i agree with you. Of course everyone at the club will say the title is their goal. It has to be, but it would be some achievement just to pick up where Fergie left off. My expectations are for him to deliver a title at some point in the next three (or 4 so long as we get close in 3) seasons
Same for me, I don't expect the title next season but I also don't expect to see us scraping in to the top 4 in the last game or two. He will deff need a couple of seasons to get it right and its a luxury the fans can help him get by not getting on to his back when its not going right.
