Reports flying around that Barca are about to table a 35mill offer for Luiz.

He's one of the most important members of our squad and I'm glad we've slapped an off-putting 45 million price tag on him - the one area looking a bit thin is in defence and Luiz leaving would just make that worse. However, the asking price could leave us vulnerable if they decide to meet it only towards the end of the summer transfer window and/or if Luiz starts pushing for the exit.

Whether true or not, if we're gonna sell we need to sell quickly to give us time to find an adequate replacement. We need to communicate clearly that we will take 45 million NOW, which increases as we get closer to the transfer deadline. i.e. every day that Barca fail to meet the valuation, his price will only increase further. or i.e put up, or shut up.

If we are going to sell we need to do it now. There isn't an easy pool of CBs at the moment. Honestly, I think selling would be a poor move.

Jose has again put up the "Not for Sale" sign and said David is crucial to his plans. Also reported that RA is a big fan, if true, that's all folks.

I think Luiz is already up there as one of the best C.B when you factor in his overall contribution. If Barca would be willing to spend 30 million plus on him that clearly means he must be one of the best in the world in his position.

He does make the odd mistake but for me that is compensated by his overall attitude on the pitch, will to win etc and what he gives as an attacking threat. How many other C.B could score a goal like he did against Basle. I can't think of any. If Terry can regain his form and fitness, they could be the best and most balanced pairing since the last time Jose was here.

Luiz had pulled out of Chelsea's squad to face Real for an "unspecified Reason".

You know what. As much as I like Luiz, if he wants to go and Barca want to pay us £35m for him I say let him go. We can get cover and who knows, maybe even promote one of our promising youngsters for a run. I don't believe he wants to go but should he express a desire the let him. I only want people who want to play for the club at Chelsea.

£35m? More like £45m considering how desperate Barcelona are for a cb.

    yes, injured I am sure.
LOL now Suarez has pulled out of the Liverpool squad because of an injury.
Funny how every player rumoured to be imminently moving has pulled out of their respective squads
