Having watched Luiz elbow his way through a lot of
tackles it seems ironic that he gets his nose broken
by one of his own team.

as they say "what goes around, comes around"

it's obviously a cliché (cos we all pay good money to watch footballers of any shape or form) but he's exactly the kind of player i want to pay good money to watch. he has absolutely everything in his locker. beautiful footballer, graceful when in full flow, the kind of player who can play in literally any outfield position and look like he's played there all his life.

Barton is an inferior player,so has to resort to thuggery.

Luiz is far superior,.and lets himself down.

I'd disagree about him being a thug i'd say he's borderline, I thought what he did to Jake reeves of brentford a 19 year old was horrific. Didn't get the media backlash it deserved left him concussed. For those that didn't see he was running full pace and elbowed him knocked him out, he'd only been on the pitch a few minutes. He is a class player though reads the game tremendously but should cut that out of his game.

Chelsea should have stuck with Villas Boas and got rid of Terry there and then.

I am a big fan of the Chelsea midfield and I hope Mourinho doesn't destroy it, that team could be amazing to watch with a few new players.

Very good player, as person and professional I think his a twat. There seems to be a common argument that some people think he should be playing in midfield instead of defence, I think his more of a cultured centre back, if he calms down on some of his positioning occasionally he'll be up there with the best.

I think as a person he seems a good laugh off the pitch clearly has a good sense of humour and is usually enjoying himself in interviews etc.

How do you find him a twat?

He's one of those players who can suddenly produce something out of nothing, but he does let himself down with his deliberate elbowing (like Fellaini when he deliberately elbowed Bunn to the floor last season).

So that explains being a twat as a professional not person ;-)

You can be pedantic about it :p but his a professional footballer so it's highly likely his a twat as a person, I've been complimentary and given him credit as a footballer, I'm sure his not going care, cry or lose any sleep over me calling him twat.

Growing trend of broken noses at Chelsea...Ba, Torres and Luiz all in the 2nd half of the season. Mind you, when Torres had his mask on, he turned into Darth Vader, he was unstoppable!

    Found this little gem:
