A random post, but the comic actor David Kelly has passed away at the age of 82. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17020494 Addicks in search of a good laugh could do worse than check out the original series of Whoops Apocalypse, in which he plays Abdab, the aide of the disgraced Shah of Persia - he plays the entire role blindfolded, so as not to turn his gaze on the Shah's magnificence, while all the time finding ever more outrageously sycophantic names for him. "I'm not fit to gaze on your shimmering countenance, Oh Top of the Pops". Certainly one of the funniest characters I've ever seen on TV. Older Addicks may also remember his long running turn in Robin's Nest as the one-armed washer up, Albert Riddle. A man who could make you laugh even before he'd opened his mouth - a rare talent.
I just looked up 'Whoops Apocalypse', there's some episodes and a film on Youtube that i'll watch after the game tonight. Thanks Tewks. That was one of my favourite episodes of Fawlty Towers too.
