Connolly's contract is up at the end of the season and in my opinion there can only be one outcome. We HAVE to give him a new 1 year extension. He is absolutely class. Up there with Lallana when he stays fit. So long as he keeps the fitness and health that he seems to have at the moment, we should keep him on. His movement and vision is different class and he could even do a job in the championship. Like I said, on his day, with no injuries and good fitness, he would be one of our best players. What are everyone's thoughts?
Not sure, has to play more than 2 games in 6 months to base a decision upon. Connolly's general fitness isn't in doubt, it's the cumulative effect of all the knee and groin issues he's had over the years that will never go away. There is probably a greater than 50% risk of him pulling up and then being out for months.
Woudn't have given him a contract this year , too injury prone use his wages elsewhere and we can get a better and younger striker than him when we get promoted
Difficult to call, we definately could use his experience. but realiscally he is 4th choice at a guess. Also haven't we got a youngster coming up, the one that is out on loan at Oxford is it? I personally like Connolly but his appalling injury record doesn't shine for me. I think on reflection it is a no contract sadly.
