David Beckham will not be paid for his time at PSG. Money will go to a children's charity in Paris. #bbctransfernews.

Clearly PSG didnt watch any of his mls games this season like I did. He isnt all that anymore.

Glad it is all going to charity though. Nice of him to do that.

I know the Beckham's are rich - but that is still a great gesture. All credit to him!

I think it's his presence that attracts teams rather than his ability.

Everyone knows his legs have gone but PSG are a side that have little Champions League experience in terms of a club aiming to win it, Beckham would be an ideal man to help their younger talent.

Goes without saying Stan, but he could have used the money to fund her shopping trips. In these days of some very self-centred rich arses, I still think it's a great thing to do.

Yea as I have said before I think he has other benefits than what he can actually do on the field.

I watched probably 15 of his games this year, maybe more since I get all the LA and SJ games on my local sports channel since I live in Cali. I really dont think he can handle any level outside of the mls anymore he is just to old, slow and fragile. His crosses which can still be amazing are really quite rare now days and that is with the massive space you get in the mls. He scored 7 I think and had a decent number of assists but that was with the likes of Donovan and Keane on his team. LA are SJ are really a class apart in the mls and the really poor quality of the opposition padded his stats.

Basically he said he knows he won't be having a massive impact on the field... Probably coming off the bench and maybe fighting his way to first team but this is a bigger "prject" they called it... I'm guessing a brand image one. It's not sure whether he'll play next season but he will have a sort of Patrick viera at man city role at psg.

I agree with you Lincoln, but I doubt she has to spend much to get her clothes, etc. But to bring her fashion base from L.A. to Paris is good juju.

I do still think he's doing good - putting his pay towards the kids' charity.

Hmmm, he's made sure everyone knows about this though hasnt he? Why couldnt he have just done it without ensuring it will be the clip aired from his presser? He couldve made the nice generous gesture without ensuring it got all the publicity, like Bellamy and his schools project that went on for years without anyone knowing. Plus it's hardly a dent in the £135m+ fourtune he has amassed alone, never mind his missus.....

I did. And I dont love him or loathe him, am completely indifferent about him.

Well I'm not saying I still love him but he got me passionate about football... I was 10 when he scored that long ranger v wimbledon and always liked him since. I think he gets a lot of stick considering he doesn't actually do much wrong.
Some people will see it as one big money making pr scheme, as his visit to the troops, visit to africa and donations to charity were but I think he's a decent lad which is not that common anymore when you look at your balotellis, bullards or hazards

The same Balotelli who donated thousands to homeless people on the streets of Manchester? Or went into a school of his own accord to confront a bully who had been picking on a lad who went to watch training? Or who regularly paid for all the petrol of everyone on the forecourt when he went to fill his car up?
