I caught the end of MOTD2 last night & they said "Spare a thought for David Beckhams who's World Cup dreams are over". Front page of the metro today was him getting a boot in the face & having a little cut - I thought they were taking the piss until I heard the radio mention his injury - no ****ing mention of it in the paper mind. I wouldn't have taken him anyway, pretty average bar his set pieces & crossing ability....problem for me was he never had pace or skill to get past a player to cross it!!!
We can expect a day of national mourning from the English media for Beckham not being able to play in the WC
