Here we go again, the man just loves speaking to the press, a complete joke of a man, unlike the dignified Huw Jenkins, he does everything he can to get column inches. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18446561
Whelan is so desperate to get shot of Martinez without having to lose face by sacking him it's almost comical. He won't resign (you generally need honour for that) and it doesn't seem that despite huge media hype no bigger club is particularly interested in poaching him so Dodgy Dave's running out of options.
whelan is nothing more than a pr*ck. Lone hundred percent right he is doing what ever he can to shift Martinez. looks like he is dtuck with him.
Well I agree that Whelan is a publicity seeking moron but his comments are pretty innocuous here aren't they? He was being asked about the vacant Spurs job and was responding, saying as yet no approach had been made. To be fair, you often see the responses in this type of article, not the questions. If asked "Have you been approached, and would you allow him to speak to them?" this would be his response, surely? Isn't he only saying that whoever came in for Martinez then he would have to allow them to speak to him? Only stating the obvious really. "Roberto is very happy, he is doing a brilliant job for me." sounds like he want to keep him, not get rid of him. As the article says, Martinez's stock is higher than ever so I don't know why you think Whelan doesn't want to retain his Manager. As for needing honour to resign, why on earth would he? Why should he? Don't get it. Furthermore, to say nobody is interested in Martinez is patently untrue. He turned down Villa and had an interview for Liverpool, with the rumour mill suggesting he turned them down because he didn't want a DOF above him. I smell sour grapes here. Let it go.
Bobbie brown shoes starting to look surpless to requirements then ? Any sympathy lads if any truth in it ?
What makes me laugh is that he acts like he has the greatest managers and coaches in the world! I doubt we would be premier league if Martinez stayed!
Because he knows our style of football and hes quite popular he would prob get another prem job so why would wheelan want to let him go unless he thinks he can get better in ?
The other day Whelan was saying that Martinez should decide whether he's staying or going because they needed to start planning for the new season. And now he's suddenly happy to see him leave again. It's a very odd situation. Martinez is desperate to leave, but Whelan won't just sack him.
I dont read it as DW wanting to get rid of Martinez but I wish he would keep out of other clubs affairs. A simple no comment would do. I also hate the way he pronouces "Roberto" buts thats an aside
How many years before all Prem clubs will have a Swansea Manager?? Where will Laudrup end up after us? all season I have read " feels the former Swansea boss is happy at Wigan" now we can add Liverpool!! so who's next for Laudrup? Spurs? Everton? Fulham? makes you think doesn't it! We are turning into a conveyor belt for Managers!................
Did you think of that all yourself?? Plagiarist of the highest order as always DP ! Ah well, I guess it's true what they say about immitation.
Look swimaway if your trying to say, you've said as much, then spit it out, because I missed it! Anyway great minds think alike, and stop trying to steal my thunder, I'm beginning to think I'll be needing some digital rights management on here before too long! Behave will you.............
Well HJ must have built up a pretty good dossier on home and abroad candidates by now for if when Laudrup does well and jumps of our conveyor belt ?
You're all misreading this interview. Read it again. As for DPJ he's king of cut n' paste. Maybe a change of font to let us know what's your material and other people's stuff filtched from other sites.
