Off Topic Dave Whelan banned for 6 weeks

He's been fined £50k, sent on a re-education course and banned from all footballing activity for 6 weeks.

Feel sorry for his wife having to hear about his broken leg story for 6 weeks.

Apparently he said he'd walk away from football if found guilty......

 

I've always found Whelan to be a stale old ****.

 

I see that one of his star players was sent off last night for an over the ball challenge

Callum McManaman was sent off within 10 minutes of coming on as a substitute as Sheffield Wednesday inflicted Wigan's seventh defeat in nine outings.
It was the second sending off of 23-year-old McManaman's career and he could have little complaint after he left the ground to crash through Dielna with 22 minutes remaining.

If you hadn't already got there before me, this is exactly what I was going to say

So the three people involved in 'McManananananananaman Gate' all got it this week: Whelan banned and fined, McMananman red carded, and Martinez witnessing a 'striker's challenge' to one of his own players.

What goes around comes around.

 

If a chairman is banned from all football related activity during the transfer window does that mean that the club can't do any business buying or selling players?

 

In practice it probably means little more than Dave Whelan can't go and watch Wigan for 6 weeks - which sounds more like a Christmas present than a punishment to me!

 

In that case the FA can serve me a 100 year ban.

 

God i Hope so. Would love to see them in the third tier next year, ****ty two but club that they are
