I was at the FA Cup match at London Road on 16th November 2010 when Posh were playing against Stockport County. We were 3 - 0 up and cruising when Dave Hibbert came on midway through the second half to replace CMS. He lasted barely 10 minutes when he challenged for the ball in the middle of the pitch and went down quite clearly in severe pain and some distress. I thought at the time it was a bad injury but never expected it to be a career ending one. He never kicked a ball in anger after that day and has now announced his retirement from football. We as Posh fans never got to see the best of Dave Hibbert, he only played a total of 11 competitive games for us. Whatever your chosen career path for the future Dave good luck and thanks for the kind words about the club we all love. http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/...-united/posh-striker-quits-football-1-4972310
It's always sad when genuine talent is cut short by injury! Our former player Dean Ashton, just been called up to the full England squad for the first time, breaks his ankle in training and that's him finished!
My word .... I had forgotten what a good looking bloke he was Good luck Dave ... all the best for the future
Saw him interviewed on the TV last night talking about having to come to terms with his injury. Didn't catch all off it unfortunately. Anyone else see it? Nice bloke
