A 21-year-old model has died after âsurfingâ on top of a train and catching fire. Brian McClellen, who is a skateboard stuntman, suffered 85 per cent burns after jumping on top of the commuter train early on Sunday morning in Greenwich, Connecticut. He was found on fire on top of the roof of the train bound for New York shortly after 5am. It is believed the model, from Ohio, caught fire after coming into contact with the mechanical arm on top of the train â known as a pantograph. The metal arm collects power from overhead wires and feeds it to the train. Mr McClellen was found ablaze after the train lost power and workers went to look at what may have caused the failure. His agent Ryan Colby said the model was due to appear alongside Hilary Duff in a television show called âYoungerâ and a film with Pierce Brosnan called âUrgeâ. Writing on a Facebook tribute page, one of his friendâs said: âI remember all of us sitting in math class &you would talk about your dreams & how you want to be a model you made your dreams come true you were funny full of life & you went after what you love your an amazing person and you will truly be missed.â
This is why continental types get 'in' the train rather than 'on' the train. The English language's blasé use of prepositions was bound to lead to a tragedy of this sort eventually.
I would like to express my deepest sympathies. He must have had a loco-motive for this foolhardy action. And now he will sleeper for eternity.
