Sat here in the worlds greatest airport - Perth International (note sarcasm) on my way to spend New Years in Vung Tau, Vietnam before flying out bright an early on New Years day. Here's the kicker... I get breath tested before jumping on the parafin budgie, so a sober start to 2012 for me.

Reason I write is I'm say here with a beer watching what is on the Telly. Darts. And what I'm surprised about is the amount of people there cheering. It sounds more lively in that darts hall than some of our games under Brucey boy.

Is the darts really that good? 2 fat blokes throwing something sharp at a board which the people in the back can't see...?

Anyhoo my n606 chums, beer is out and I need to hit the bar. I wish you all a happy new year, and look forward to the discussions and arguments in 2012. This includes the mags.

I've never seen darts before, so can't comment on how good it is, but it's not a sport! Regardless of that, it may be a very good hobby, like snooker.

I would suggest that the merits of darts, or snooker for that matter, as being classed as sports is debatable. Although neither require a high level of fitness, a high level of hand/eye coordination is needed for both...

Darts is class. They're sportsman imo. The way they keep their concentration when the atmosphere is like that is quite remarkable. I know I couldn't!

The Wade vs John Part game earlier today - CLASS!

Arrived in Singapore safe and sound, but have to say, was gutted i couldn't watch the end of that Part vs Wade game! Got into it myself, the way the bigger fella in blue (Part I think?) came back from 2 sets down to lead 4-3 when i finally got on the plane.

I can see the point in it now, if it's a good game like that one earlier! If i play darts I start off ok... but after a few bevvies i couldn't hit the dartboard with a barn door :(
