Heard something about us being in for him. Anyone else? Personally I would love it if he came to Stoke, or as someone else suggested, Scott Parker on loan, or both? That would be a much improved central midfield I reckon.
I think he would be a good addition, and whilst he is erratic compared to the established at Man U, ne knows how, to keep the ball, win and score! In relation to the najority of the squad not getting linked with any pother team - Interesting point! Again without repeatimg myself to death, it does amuse me that all the really pro TP fans who are adamant that we have moved forward over the last 3 years, cant acknowledge that not even championship teams are interested in 75% of our squad! That is either because they are crap, or because they look **** in the formation and style we play in? Either TP is very clever in depreciating his own assets to the outside world or they wern't good enough in the first place!
John O'Shea said in an interview with a United fanzine that Gibson was choosing between us and Sunderland and going by what the media are saying, Sunderland have withdrawn their offer due to Gibson's £40k a week wage demands.
I understand TP's stance on inflated players wages and agree whole heartedly! However, 40K a week is not a high wage for a premier league footballer and definatley not for a player (regardless of club) who is going to play 30+ league games and probably play all game! This is just not related to Gibbson, but also to the likes of Cole (who I am not much for) who TP is struggling to convince to take a 40% drop in wages! Wages are a key factor at this level and it is important to acknowledge that your best players, and players that are going to keep you in the top flight need to be rewarded and in this day and age that is wages! So, do we jepordise or status by cutting our nose off to spite our face or do we start to compromise and start paying higher wages. I have read some comments that we cant bring higher paid players in to our current squad. That is BS, new players in different seasons will command different wages and my understanding is that the wage structure hasn't changed in the last couple of seasons! Players who run their contrcats down for lower transfer fees always command higher wages eg. a free player might get paid 60K a week, but the same player with a transfer fee may ony get paid 40K! That is deal that the club has to assess, but has nothing to do with others players seeing their arse over who is getting paid what!
Smithers again I must agree Why cannot the PC's just see That wages in the PL are the main concern So why will they never learn The old adage is still quite hip Pay peanuts and the results will dip Tried on the last to involve chimps or gibbons But my monkey puzzle is all in ribbons
Odes or not, I say to Old Nick Sign up Gibson pretty quick. Please Mr Pulis do beware leave it late, he will go elsewhere. Much improved on what we've got Face it Tony 40k ain't a lot. He's still quite young, and we know he has class One thing's for sure, we know he can pass. Rory, Whelan, Whitehead and all At least we know Gibson would give them the ball. I'm sick of repeating they are not good enough So offer the money and I'd be right chuffed. An excellent signing I think it would be So it's over and out, let's just wait and see.
Well we have poets galore here!! Good reading for all of us down here TP must see the light so we can all see the might Gibson is young, improving and has vision TP must be more flexible and make a signing of real talent his mission I feel Cole would have been a real asset to the team and would have led the line in a way we like to see Elsewhere I read that we are linked with Parker. I don't why when when he is linked to Chelsea or is it just me? I will sign off now and let us wonder How the gaffer might decide how to squander
My goodness me these odes are catching Soon our posts will all be matching But rhyming couplets if you please With scan and metre to read with ease Our problem in the transfer market Is dead easy, ask a Meerkat Tis Uncle Peter's salary cap Means that every player bought will be a very ordinary championship chap
