Looks like a good signing. " . "He's very strong, very aggressive and he's got enough mobility and pace about him to deal with strikers in the first division. " - Graham Turner
People questioned Matt Richards when he came here, so i'll keep an open mind on it. Plus got loads of supporters awards last season too.
is he good enough to step up a division? Hereford ,Aldershot,FGR and Chelt.....bit of a risk if you ask me, so we will just have to trust GT on this one....but not over the moon, is he as good as Ian Sharps and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff im not to sure, looks like a step backwards to me...and Rowland keeping a tight hand on his coffers....
Is Collins proven at a higher level than League 2? I know you're not a great fan of Morgan, TH, but he is unproven at a higher level too.
All this unproven malarky is nonsense as GT is a better judge of player than all of us & knows whether he can make the grade or not. So what if he's played in the lower leagues?! Anyone suggesting that any signing is a backward step without seeing them perform for the Town are fools. Are you a better judge of player than GT? Ian Sharps would've been found wanting in L1. He lacked pace & was definitely prone to the odd error or two & as for Roland keeping a tight hand on his coffers, put a lid on it! It's boring.. As suggested by Matster, is Collins proven at L1 level or should we get rid of him? What say ye?
all im saying its that he's a bit of a clubber, personally i thought Sharps played well for us last season, i could be wrong, but their are a lot of players looking for clubs out there and his signing doesn't inspire me that much, GT cant make too many mistakes like he did with Morgan
well not really, Collins is only 21 and improving all the time and looks a prospect for the future, where has GT as sighed a 28yo journeyman that if he was going to make it, he would have done by now, not saying Darren Jones isnt a good solid player and hard tackler but has very little pace....perhaps i was just expecting a little bit better thats all
are any of our squad tested in L1?, surely we all have to make it up as we go along. some will make others may not. come on young tom show them how its done. floreat salopia, floreat cymru, floreat towyn!
