.. but still thinks they can turn us over ... http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/...looking-for-the-shock-of-the-season-1-4761989 .. admittedly they have had the advantage over us at their place in recent seasons ...
I don't like Darren Ferguson. Every interview he just comes across as an arrogant, self indulged prick.
.. suggest you start praying to the footballing gods to keep Bellamy's glass knees in one piece Sparks ... if they do I think you'll be fine ... if not I'd have some concerns ... looking from the outside in of course ...
Fosse - If Bellamy was in any way doubtful about the current condition of his knees, he wouldn't have played in the Wales 2-1 win over Austria on Wednesday. The proper management of his issues through the training regimes at Cardiff have transformed his fitness from the draconian way Mancini treated him at Man City. Even his super form last season for Liverpool was evidence of the improvemnet we made in him during his loan season with us the year before. Although "glass knees" are always mentioned, the only reason he's not played this season apart from his personal problems at home, is a nagging calf strain that wouldn't go away - it kept him out for about a month and was nothing at all to do with his knees. Your comment seems to be pointing to the fact that you think Bellamy is vital to our push. He's a very important cog but not necessarily vital. Bellamy played 4 games in a fortnight for us over Xmas/New Year and came through it just fine - we trust that's a sign for the rest of the season at least.. The addition of Fraizer Campbell will also take some of the pressure off him. We've lacked an out and out goalscorer all season (top scorere Helguson has only got 8 and Bellamy only 4), so goals have come from all over the park. I can see that continuing with Campbell just adding that bit extra at the sharp end. The hope that many of our rivals cling on to is that if Bellamy is out, we'll lose. We've lost with him and won without him. Anyone expecting us to fall apart if he's unavailable could be in for a big disappointment. It's good to talk guys.
... my comments are aimed more at his 'talismanic' qualities than his fitness generally - he's the sort of guy that sets the tempo by example i.e charging after lost causes and sometimes leaving his foot in - he's a winner - just feel that with him on the pitch many of his team mates are more intimidated at the prospect of upsetting him than by the opposition ..... for that I think you need him on the pitch rather than just around the scene ... but you watch your boys week-in week-out, so I'll take your points accordingly ...
Fair play Fosse - talisman is a fair description quite apart from his talent. He never gives up and is a driven force on the pitch that certainly pervades the team - no one, and I mean absolutely no one slacks when they are playing with Craig. Even when he isn't playing, he swarms around our guys before kick off, at half time and at the end of games encouraging them. He's just the same in training and will never be outdone. He's as likely to give his team mates a kick up the arse at our training headquarters as much as encouraging them to the next level. On that count, I agree entirely with your point. My point was that he isn't Cardiff City on his own - just a very important element in what has become a very fit and efficient squad under Malky. I was wondering if you've got anybody across there with a similar character?
Big Wes has instilled steely discipline but also with a fair amount of ability ... don't see many centre-halves sprinting out of defence and doing a couple of step-overs .... Konchesky is our most combative .. unfortunately he is also probably the most reckless ...
Wes Morgan has always has a good game against us. He used to give our front boys a torrid time when he was at Forest. In our game at your place we kept pumping the ball upfield and it was food and drink to Wes - I couldn't understand for the life of me why we kept doing it. For a big guy he's pretty nimble on his pins as well, but he'll need to be with Bellamy and Campbell sniffing. Konchesky always seems like an accident waiting to happen to me. If Noone plays on the day and gets into the box, it could well be a "slam bam thank you mam" penalty from Whitts.
Hopefully by the time we both play each other in April, the fat lady will be singing her heart out and we will both have secured the top 2. Being realistic, I think we will have a fight for 2nd place until the last game of the season
