If you guys do want to sign a striker to help put all our chances away, how about the Premier Leagues most consistent English goal scorer over the last 10 years? I am a massive fan of Darren Ben, and have been for years. I think he is just as good as Rooney, and is more prolific. He is consistent, scores goals and is very proven in the Premier League. He wouldn't be the easiest player to sign, and wouldn't come cheap. But he could be worth the effort. Signing Teves on loan wouldn't do any better in my opinion.
