    Go and get him MoN

the amount of balls that have been flashed across goal and no **** anywer near them would be bread and butter stuff for Benty.

He is and will always be a money grabbing ****** but pay him same as Johnson is on (50-55k) and he will get goals and I think most fans will tollerate him for that.

Sess looks better on the wing this season and Fletch needs someone up top with him, Benty would be perfect

Apparently Villa are not going to play him again as 1more game means they will have to pay us another 6m

They must still owe us a canny bit so lets go out and bring him back

Not fussed about Bent TBH. All of our players can score, it's getting into scoring positions that's the problem and I don't see how Bent helps that.

Surprised you'd even consider having him back. Treat you like a stop gap and would do the same again.

I've never really rated him personally. Very lazy and not great for team play, as apart from scoring he does **** all else. He will be going though because he has no hope of dislodging Benteke regardless of rumours about money being paid after his next appearance. Works harder, has a better touch, leads the line, strong and just a far better striker for the PL.

Bent will always score goals but at what cost to the team is the question.

This is pure speculation surley? Where is your source for that? We have not blown our wage policy wide open for one player imo.

He may well be on £84k per week but we wont be paying all that. £50k will be the absolute and at the far reaches of our limit imo.

Cest, you say we have a 50k cap, where do you get this information, your opinion is no better than joe blogs? This is like the blind leading the blind. Where is your proof? Everyone says we pay this and he gets that..... Who bloody cares what they get....

I just want results.... MON is now leading paddy powers sack race.... We all say he's a class manager, not proved it at Sunderland yet. He needs to pull his finger out and short these players out or do us a favour and walk himself if he's not up to the job.

I done a comparison with Bent in his 24 goal season, and Fletch in his 12 goal season with Wolves when we were rumoured to be after him.

It was for points "Gained" from their goals.

If we won 2-0/3-1 etc and Bent scored but another player like Jones say scored then i didnt count that, if we won 2-1 and Bent got the decider i did count it, if we drew and Bent scored first, then the other team, i didnt count that (if it was the other way i did), it was only the points their goals gained the teams.

Bent Gained us 34 points that season we finished 13th on 44 points.

Fletcher gained 7 points for Wolves bottom with 25 points

For me its a no brainer I know others hate him and even think he is ****, bottom line is he scores goals for fun, and that is what we need. we already have an OK defence but we need goals.

I reckon players like Colback, Ji, Whickham, Cambell, may have to be sold and sebb unless he gets his finger out and 1 or 2 others before we get Bent back, and Fletcher would have to play on the left and with Sess creating in midfield with another 2 midfielders signed in Jan we should be ok.

It's a good thread and worth debating but to me there are 2 More important questions. 1) Does MON stay or go? If he goes, who replaces him, I know this is another current thread. If he stays then question 2) Will he do something about our Central Midfield. Our defence is ok, solid most of the time, should get through to the end of the season. Forward line is a bit short of numbers and could do with at least one addition in Jan but our midfield is dire, most of the other teams in the PL have at least 1 midfielder I would take, Granero, Snodgrass, Noble, Brunt, Ruiz etc from teams we are in competition with. We can argue about who we would buy but MON has to make improvements or we are in big trouble.

Got to say it boils my piss when when I hear.Get Bent, Jones, Elmo,(and even Phillips) back to the club. We've been there and done that. Bent is a ****ing prick. Why on earth would Villa not play him and then leave him out of the whole last two squads. Jones, we hated him before he left as a lazy twat and weak as piss shot who rarely plays for Stoke. Phillips is finished and Elmo has a couple of good games in the championship and all of a sudden he's a world beater. MON knows what we need (hope to god) and it's not going back 3,5,7 years thats for sure.
By the way the only recent player I would of had back was Steed.

The thing I couldn't understand with that was in most games when he did go off he was nearly always our best player AND STILL PLAYING WELL WHEN HE WENT OFF. A bit baffling to say the least. Why couldn't he just have a quick *** and come back on??

very rarely did he last past 80 minutes most were 60-70 and even 45 minutes. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/8887/steed-malbranque?cc=5739

for me though we need goals phillips is past it but we could do worse than getting him on a coaching role after phillips its bent, who is still going, cant get in the villa squad for whatever reason, we need goals, villa still owe us cash from him, we may even be able to get him for free depending on how much they have.

Do I think he will come back and MON even be interested, NO not a cat in hells chance, but i dont think it would be such a bad move as some on here think it would be.
