If the MK Dons chappie turned us down because he didn't want to work with Cellino, any reason you think your chappie would be happy to work with him?

I have no idea. Football is a funny game though.

I think DC would be crazy to go to Leeds right now and I dont mean to be disrespectful. I think the owner situation at your club is holding your club back and any manager going to Leeds must be crazy. But DC is the sort of manager who likes 'crazy'.

He has no experience at managing in the top 3 leagues at all. If he stays with us then it will be his 1st league 1 managerial experience. The season just gone was his 1st full season in league 2 as manager and got promoted!

He has been manager for 5 full seasons. 1st season won promotion with Salisbury in non league. 2nd season consolidated with Salisbury. 3rd season won another promotion with Salisbury. He then joined us as assistant manager and became manager with just 8 games left of the season and couldnt save us from relegation into non league. He then won back to back promotions with us from non league to league 1. So 5 full seasons, he has won 4 promotions. That relegation was in my eyes and many others eyes not his fault as only had 8 games and loan window shut to change anything.

He likes to play football in the ground, the right way, and will only have hard working players, players who fight for the shirt and for the team who dont give us. We scored 28/29 goals this season in the last 10 minutes of games. The last goal was 93rd minuted which got us promoted! He wont accept players not pulling their weight. When we got relegated, a lot of players left as out of contract so he was able to get in who he wanted. I presume if he joined you, he would have to use a lot of players already there and he will need time to get these players thinking his way. Will your owners give him this time? I doubt it.

He is on a rolling 12 month contract so will have to pay us some compensation. Im not sure if he has a clause that allows him to speak to certain clubs. If he doesnt, our owners, who are new owners themselves from Jordan and are rich, dont need to let DC go as got the funds to keep him. They have said already that we no longer have to sell players to survive like the past. I would presume that counts for the manager too!

I think he will be crazy to go to you and hopefully he will agree with me. But he is the sort who wont back down from a challenge and will see you as that challenge. I have no idea which way it will go.

    <ok>

He is very frustrating to watch.

    The good...
We have had him for 2 seasons now and has scored 48/49 goals. Not bad for someone who has never played a single football league game before this season and this season he was Englands top goal scorer across all the leagues! He has scored some cracking goals. But he is not just about goals. He is a great team player too chasing the defence down at every opportunity and got a fair few assists as well. Good with headers although not that tall.

    The bad...
Although was the top scorer, he went through 2 spells this season where he couldnt score. He scored 1 goal in the 1st 10 games of this season. And scored just 1 goal in 11 games from xmas to end of Feb. So 2 goals in 21 games. Somehow he scored 26 goals in the other games! He misses so many sitters, its unreal. I have never seen a player wastes so many 1 on 1's or half open goals. Any other manager would have dropped Taylor easily.

Latest news on this from Bristol...

It is believed that the initial approach has been rebuffed and that Rovers have set a number of pre-conditions that need to be met before they allow Clarke the opportunity to speak with the Leeds owner.

The Post also understands that Rovers chairman Steve Hamer met with Clarke on Monday lunchtime to discuss the matter in anticipation of an approach from Leeds United and that the offer of a three-year-deal was tabled, which the Rovers boss went away to think about.

Rovers are priming themselves for a second approach from Leeds imminently and would not stand in Clarke's way of going to Elland Road for talks should Cellino accept the pre-conditions that have been set out by the club's lawyers.

Clarke is currently on a 12-month rolling contract and it is understood that Rovers would demand a six-figure compensation fee should the manager decide that a switch to Elland Road would further his career.

Neither club has yet to comment officially on the matter, but Rovers are expected to clarify their position at some point later today.

Sounds like my type of coach/manager who relishes, and rises to a challenge, and more importantly doesn't play favourites cos he's shagging'em.

Doesn't matter who we get as a coach (Big names, Little names)) Leeds United is a challenge to them all; we Leeds fans either love'em or loathe'em and despite all the criticism against Cellino, I believe he's looking for that coach that makes an impact from start.

Based on your comments, he sounds like he has all the credentials, but Steve Evans had similar and that didn't turn out too well, so if he gets the job I hope his football is good attacking football, if he plays the lone striker and has no midfield, he will fail, just like our recent coaches.

If he gets the job, I hope he's different in his approach and wish him good fortune, cos we're a bit starved of good fortune here at Leeds.......:emoticon-0148-yes:

He treats each game a seperate project and is not concerned about the next game. He only has his attention on 1 game at a time. I know its a cliche but he actually does this. He looks for the oppositions weaknesses and sets up to attack that. So 1 game could be 352 and the next could be 442. Quite often he changes formation throughout the game too. So a player could get man of the match and scored the winner but the next game could be on the bench because the next game is a different project and the manager may think a different player would hit the next opposition weaknesses better. Sometimes the manager has used all 3 subs before half time if ne needs to change things. He doesnt see the point in waiting until 60 minutes to change things when he can see after 20 minutes that something needs changing. Also he will go for a win and is happy to put 3 or 4 up front when its level.

As a result of doing this, he has a win percentage over 50% and has drawn more than he has lost.
