The next two away games at Bristol and Doncaster are both very winnable (the worst home records in the NPL against our away form) which could see us on 18 points from 9 games and almost definitely in a play-off place.
We would then be on a run of five wins with the possibility of having Stewart available.
I know you can't bank on anything with City, but considering the bad start we had last season kept us out of the play-offs dare we start dreaming?

It amazes me how we've changed the ground, board and every player, yet we still play well against good sides and struggle against those that (on paper) should be easier.

No we shouldn't dare to dream. I am all for optimism and I am optimistic about the season but I wouldn't far to dream yet!!! 3 wins in a row doesn't mean we are going to get promoted!! Hopefully... it does but don't dare to dream!!!!!!

I always dare to dream. Why not ? It doesn't affect anything. Il put it this way.If i truly believe that were going to do it,and we don't,im disappointed. If i don't think we have a hope of doing it and we don't im still disappointed
I'd find it hard to support my team if i didn't think we could achieve anything(but of course i would support anyway).

But anyway yes,i do believe this could be the P word

Loving the knee-jerkers on here as usual. 3 points from 4 games and the manager should go, suddenly we get 3 wins on the bounce and we're going to get promoted.

I'm all for a bit of positivity, and before the season started I was actually very optimistic about our prospects, but we shouldn't be judged on 7 games, just like we shouldn't have been judged after 4 (which some unbelievably fickle supporters did) <ok>

Teams that get in the play-off slots early gain a lot of self confidence and usually stay in and around the promotion fight throughout the season.
They also get more respect from opposition teams which helps to achieve results.

Hope that doesn't refer to me because I've backed NP from the start.

so hard to say, looked at the football coupon today, and in the championship every game could have gone either way and you wouldnt have been too surprised

No probs then. But I don't think it's being over-optomistic to think that we have a decent chance of winning at Bristol and Doncaster. Then with Stewart back it could be the springboard for our whole season.

Its something i said last year that when we missed the play offs it was an oppurtunity missed as the division will only get harder, we now do have 15 teams who all think they can get into the play offs. Look at Derby, Boro and Palace so far they where poor last season now look this season.

I actually feel we have a good team but we need 2/3 loans to complete it still.

Makes me laugh, all these people that want the manager out. I used to slate brown, our most successful manager, then when we got dopey dowie I wondered why I wanted brown out, now we have a good manager in Pearson and some people want him out . I guess what I'm trying to say is you never know what you have till it's gone afterall you could guarantee someone wouldn't be happy with the replacement, so be careful what you wish for. I even see someone from T.W.S want Grayson out after what he has done for them.

The pleasing thing for me is is that we look to be improving game by game, individually and as a team. Hobbs and Chester partnership looks to be blossoming, as is Mckenna and Cairney in Centre midfield. If we keep this up over the season then yes we have a decent shout of been in the shake up. A lack of goals could be our undoing though against the West Hams and Southamptons of this league, but Stewarts return should help that. If we're where we are now at Christmas then i think we can start to get confident, but while the league is still taking shape we have to make sure we stay in the upper reaches of the league. We look a very hard side to break down and that can only bode well for the season, we just have to avoid any complacency in these next 2 games and we have a chance of increasing our points total.

Having Stewart back will be a huge improvement to our side and I agree we could push on even further with another great player in our squad, but he is as I say, one player.

I think its too premature to all of sudden say we will be in the push for promotion. Lets see where we are in the table by New Year.
