Need to look over our shoulders already.... DANNY Wilson has emerged as the early favourite for the Notts County job. The 53-year-old free agent, who has a wealth of experience from managing the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Bristol City and Swindon, was the frontrunner to be the Magpies' next manager with the bookies last night â following the sacking of Chris Kiwmoya. Kiwomya was axed on Saturday night, after Notts slipped back to the bottom of League One with a tenth defeat in 13 games when losing 1-0 to Preston at Meadow Lane.
they have Dannny Haynes, Jamal Campbell ryce and showumni upfront for them! Would be a city cast off if he takes over
****, how the mighty have fallen! I remember Football Manager 2007, when Danny Haynes was a wonderkid worth £35m at 25. I remember selling him to Barcelona for £50m in 2014. He always had the ability, but I think his attitude really let him down, especially with us. He is never going to score loads, considering he transitioned over to the right instead of as an out-and-out striker as he started out, but his return over the past few years borders from average to poor. I'd always had a bad feeling about JCR. I remember when we signed him, and he came out saying that he was going to steer us toward promotion, only for us to be destroyed 6-0 by Cardiff City. For some reason, all I can remember of Showunmi is him trying to leave at every opportunity. He seemed to be linked to everyone during his brief stint with us. Good luck to Danny Wilson at Notts County. It's definitely an interesting job, and the rewards could be great if he can do well there.
Danny Haynes was a bit of an odd one, he used to get in great positions and have numerous of decent shots its just his conversion rate was terrible, would rarely hit the back of the net. Still though I did like him
Me too, I was quite pleased when we signed him and used to get quite excited when he was in possession even if the end product was often poor
I thought Danny Haynes was going to be the new Scott Murray when he first arrived but like so many others he was very inconsistent I remember Notts County being in the top flight of English football not too many years ago. They will always play second fiddle in Nottingham to neighbours Forest but they are the country's oldest football league team with a lot of history. Its a big challenge to make them competitive again though.
'Bradley Orr was forever giving him a rocket' And Louis Carey was forever giving Orr a rocket. Haynes was useless - total 'Fly by Night'.
****inghell how many of our players now or past do you actually like? I bet your kids and grandkids pretend to be out, when they hear your voice coming down the path. Was Harry Enfields character "only me, oh you don't want to do it like that" based on you
Danny Wilson will always be knocking around, but never get anywhere, some clubs have no ambition. As for Danny Haynes, he reminded me of Walcott a bit, pace to burn, but absolutely nothing else to his game, couldn't score, couldn't cross. JCR, another shocking signing from a bad era of shocking signings, and Showumni is a league 1 lump and will never play any higher. If a player has played for more than 6 or 7 clubs before he is 29/30, it should give alarm bells to managers that they are clearly not that great.
the only good thing about Haynes was the chant "Danny, Danny Hayyyyyynes; Danny, Danny Hayyyyynes" to the tune of Daddy, Daddy Cool by Boney M. Whenever he gets mentioned on football league on TV, my son and I break into the chant involuntarily. We can't help it. It is also something similar to 'Walking in a Wilson Wonderland'. Very infectious.
