Anyone watching SSN at the moment ? They just showed an interview with sir alex in which he talked about last nites game and the striking options he has; he said he had 6 options up front to choose from including Diouf and macheda; he didnt mention Welbeck. Is this just a slip by him or is it a sign that hes on his way out either on loan or permanently.

Hopefully he just goes out on loan, wouldn't want to lose him permanently, he looked really good for Sunderland last year. Would be a silly move to sell him, especially for a low price when people like Caroll are going for 35 mil.

Unfortunately, selling players at below market value does appear to be our forte. Welbeck is good enough to be at least a squad player for us now imo. I'd rather we sold other forwards before we let him go.

I think we should loan Diouf.leaving us Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Welbeck and Owen, which is definitely the strongest in the league.

I dont know what we should do with Macheda, he looked really good last night, worked harder than usual and took both goals suberbly. If we could teach him to time his runs better he really would be a top talent.
His interview after the game was interesting, he came across very determined to take his opportunity at United after his Sampdoria adventure. The penny appears to have dropped with him regarding his status at the club and just how lucky he is to be here.Hopefully it will be the making of him but I do think that a season loan to a good PL team where he would play most weeks would be a great move for Kiko.

Mackem view on DW, I cant belive SAF sees owen ahead of him in his squad hes been living off his liverpool and england days for far to long now. I dont see why you would keep a man with as litte to offer as Owen around the 1st team and send Wellbeck out on loan, i certainly hope you send him out on loan or even better sell him we'd love him up here and he didnt look out of place in the PL one bit and that was in OUR team god knows what he could do at OT where he will get more goalscoring chances

I rate him, I think he will become a fantastic player, have done for years and agree with your point about Owen, though he is good to have around the squad he should not get in the way of DW or Kikos development.

From the out side looking in i'd say your forwards in order would be: rooney, hernandez, berbatov, wellbeck, macheda, owen, diouf

I wouldn't read too much into it. He could be talking about the tour line up, which doesn't include Welbeck at the moment as he's on leave after the U21 EC? Alternatively he could mean he's currently looking at Welbeck as more of a winger. Or he just miscounted - he's getting on a bit you know!

That is true. After all, on the United website, the tour line up announcement did include Young as a forward rather than a midfielder where our other wingers were classified as!

Well lads, I hope you sell him to us up here in Sunderland, he was quality for us last year and deserves to be a premier league regular. I just can't see him getting enough games at united to keep him interested. Another loan might be best for united but for us we need stability so I would prefer we tried to buy him. I rate him at about 16m what do you guts rate him at?
