i think he is a decent enough right back nothing special but at such a low price a snip. i also think that with an actual winger in front of him he would be better as he would be able to attack more also he would have better support defensively. obviously there are aspects of his game that need to be worked on but that can be done. so i think its unfair to slate him so much.

Doesn't impress me much to be honest, can't defend and offers very little going forward. Having said that he's still young and good back-up but I think we should replace him in the summer

    ....Good to know.

Most posters on here rate Simpson as a good player. There are a few who dont. Nobody slates him though unless he cocks up - in that case they can slate away. But after all that, I will maintain the opinion that he's a solid RB, as he has had a good season for us.

He's alright. Neither good nor bad. Certainly not England material, however

Just an average player really who likes to shepherd wingers into our box!

He doesn't get anough cover from the right winger, also in terms of getting forward, Enrique pushes forward a lot so when this happens the other full back rarely pushes on. Its normally one goes forward and one drops in.

Note: It doesn't have to be set in stone before the match like it seems to be. If Simpson was to push up then Enrique should drop back, but Enrique is more attack minded therefore Simpson hardly has the chance to push forward.

As for Simpson I think he is a steady right back and will only get better with experience...and hopefully will close the player down quicker which is by far the worst part of his game.

We could do better, and I hope we do one day.

Decent right back, could do a lot worse, but he's definitely not European class.

This. Good enough for the PL but is unspectacular.

most of the time he works solidly, isn't brilliant but has improved greatly and in my opinion will only continue to improve. i see no reason to find a replacement as to get better we'd only have to spend big, and it isn't really priority. i don't get why he gets slated so much either to be honest.
decent player, great lad, good future ahead of him if he keeps it up.
