Prince Charles Admits To QPR's Danny ****tu: 'My Team Never Won A Game While I Was Captain'

The Prince of Wales admitted to footballers last night that he was far from a success as a schoolboy football captain.

Prince Charles entertained Premier League players at a Clarence House event to mark the fifteenth anniversary of his Prince's Trust Football Initiative, which aims to get disadvantaged young people into work.

England international strikers Kevin Davies and Jermain Defoe attended the event, but it was Queens Park Rangers defender Danny ****tu who revealed the prince's confession that he had never won a game as school captain.

The R's player said: "As we say in the football world, he's got banter," reported BBC News.

"He said he used to captain his school side and played at centre half, but said they never won a game while he was captain."

Purportedly a Burnley fan, the prince would not confirm this rumour to the one-capped Davies, who plays for Lancashire rivals Burnley.

Davies said: "I asked him if it was true he's a Burnley fan, but he said 'I couldn't tell you'.

"We then just talked about football in general. I've been involved in the initiative for six seasons now - even if you just manage to help one kid, it's worth your time."

The Prince's Trust Football Initiative has aided over 20,000 youngsters and involved a total of 65 Premier League and Football League clubs. It enables people aged between 16 and 25 to meet footballers face-to-face as part of 12-week job programmes, and the Premier League and the Professional Footballers' Association have donated £7m between them to the initiative since 1997.

The series of pics on the QPT Report link are great. It seems like the Prince always has one wary eye on Danny, even when he's shaking Defoe's hand, almost like he was afraid Danny was going to bop him one!
