Well I must admit that when Danny Rose played 17 games for City back in 2010/11 there is no way that I thought he would play for England. Of our 2 loan players that season, Steven Caulker seemed far more likely. However some young players "train-on" and some don't The conversion to left back has seen a marked improvement. I thought he was excellent last night in Berlin. Peter Taylor said "It's was a perfect debut for Danny Rose. He looked very powerful in defensive. He didn't get forward as much as he would have probably liked but there was never any danger of him being outrun. He has to get a nine for that performance." I thought he was unfairly slated myself.. young kid who did ok for us. I certainly never thought he was as bad as some made out?
Probably Luke Shaw if/when fit (assuming he recovers well from his broken leg), then maybe Leighton Baines.
I thought Rose was VERY poor when he played for us. His body language screamed 'I don't want to be here'. He spent more time sat on the floor crying for a free kick than he did actually playing. A truly awful waste of space. The fact he is now good enough to be selected for England just proved that he CAN play when he wants - he just chose not to - probably considered himself above us.
And being moved to a position that suits him better, with us he was still then a midfielder. But agree with what you say I always got the impression he didn't want to be here.
