Alright my Spurs chums? Mackem in peace. Not sure if any of our lads have asked you this as I've been away on my jollies. Anyhow, was just looking for your opinions, thoughts & feedback on the lad now we have him on loan. I've not seen the lad play much so your views would be appreciated. Do you think we might have a chance of getting him permanently?
Danny Rose is one of those players who could go either way for us. He certainly has the potential to be a very good EPL player, but the fact that he hasn't quite broken into the main squad indicates that both Redknapp and AVB see something missing from his game. I hope he uses his chance with your lot to knuckle down and set the division alight, and stake a claim for the Spurs squad, next season.
I can't see him making it at Spurs to be honest. I just can't see what other people see in him. He's a tidy player, but thats it. Started as a winger but now seems better as a left back. Hope i'm wrong but i'd say lower end of the prem or a top championship player is where he'll end up. He's already 22, if he was 18/19 he'd be a great prospect.
Regular football will do him the world of good if he gets that with you. Still rate him more as a left winger than left back but he could surprise me. I'm sure he'll be a regular for a Premier League club eventually, he's been a bit unlucky with injuries and 'Arry's refusal to give him a proper chance after he scored the screamer against Arsenal a few years ago. It all depends whether AVB rates him but I can see him being made available to decent offers at the end of the season.
Basically he's a legend for us all ready mate. That goal will never be forgotten by any Spurs fan, especially myself, had the net not been there the ball was going straight for my head! Anyway, Rose is definitely a player with potential, going to a good club like Sunderland will hopefully help him bloom (no pun intended) if he gets regular time on the pitch - something we can't offer when have a very good LB in Ekotto (even if he is prone to the odd heart in mouth moment). He's got speed and loves getting forward, bit in rash in the challenge at times but as I said, he'll only improve on that with minutes on the pitch at the highest level. In all honesty I'm surprised (and delighted) he's gone to Sunderland, wouldn't have expected a big club to come in for him, hopefully O'Neil can work his magic and help develop his potential to come back and give Benny a real challenge. Hope he does well for ya, got a soft spot for you guys ever since I had a great laugh with one of your fans in my local chippy after last season's game.
