Pugh's not a bad player, but never going to set the world alight, he'll do a job at LB, what the hell has happened to Parker, if we are not going to use him, we need to ship him out.

I might be wrong but I thought Parker was carrying another knock?

If Parker's got yet another knock, probably time when he's fit to ship him out on loan for regular footy to see if he really does have a future somewhere.

i'd take pugh. Operates well at LB and would improve us! Why wouldn't he, weve been playing a winger and a centre back there! So to me its a huge improvement

Well he's only as much of a left-back as White and O'Dea are. But agreed I think he'd do a more solid job. I was very impressed with White at West Ham but then again, I was impressed with Crowe at Old Trafford. Maybe he was just raising his game; hasn't really covered himself in glory since then.

Pugh would make a decent addition, similar to White but more experienced.
Don't know why we let him go in the first place.

I'd take Pugh back, but maybe only as back up. I think we should give White an extended run in the team. He played well in the Hull and West Ham games and then he actually played well in the Ipswich game, and we have all seen how bad a decision the sending off was. He's done nothing wrong for me, and is good going forward. He's fast, which is a rarity for a Leeds defender, gets stuck in and his positioning etc. will only improve. We need to stop these short term solutions to this problem position, and either give Aidy White a proper chance to prove himself (Which IMO we should have done in League One instead of playing Andy Hughes there) or spend a bit of money to bring in a LB whose good enough.

We all know that Bates isn't going to give SG any money to spend, so I'd rather Aidy Whites gets his chance to improve than a loan player going in there.

As for Ben Parker, we should just let him go at the end of the season. He's always injured and although he was good in the 08/09 season, that's nearly 3 years ago.

I'd have him back in a flash. Will do a great job in this division at both LB and LM. I'm amongst those who aren't really sure why we let him go in the first place.

Pugh came to Leeds from Man Utd, as part of the Alan Smith deal, not Ferdinand.

Ahhhh I stand corrected Boab <ok>

I remember him being a sweetner in a deal with them but completley forgot about Smith (amazing considering how many articles there has been about him!)

I would be open minded about his return, is he good enough for our current team/defence yes, is he an improvement, possibly is he going to get better - NO... If it meant we could ship Parker out or even release him on a free I am all for that. We are never going to get a decent return on wages/performance/appearances with Parker

We need to stop with this menatality of a good LB who can play LM and CM and etc etc etc... We need good positional players who perform VERY well in their allocated position or we get shot of them.

We have more than enough players who can play wide left and CM if we get a LB that is it, him battling it out with White and ship Parker out or we don't bother.

versatile players are vital to every successful squad!, especially one like ours short on numbers. just take john oshea, not a great player but held a place in the scum squad for so long due to his versatility
