I was chatting with Mr Kedwell on Tuesday evening and he told me that PT has told him to find a new club. He was rather emotional while telling me, you can see how much the club means to him. He also said how boring training was and that I was worse at the club the last year, I'm sure we all remember how much he was said to dislike the MadDog regime. Apparently PT want young players that he can, this is not using the words used by Danny, shape into players that he wants and PT doesn't like working with older players.
I heard on the radio yesterday that we was looking for a new player but this was dependent on some one leaving the club, no names were mentioned. I've always been the advocate if that's the right word of younger players, but you still need players like Danny Kedwell alongside them, it will be a sad day if he leaves the club.
Disagree there BRB. Can't fault Danny's love and enthusiasm for the club, but I've always thought that L1 was a step too high for him. I wonder if his penalty misses of late have been a contributing factor. Sounds a bit trivial, but Taylor has said he had told him to "blast" them and he (Taylor) had no idea why he tried to place them as he did the other week and missed.
Agree with BRB in the sense that around youngsters you need experience, I still don't think we have the right balance. If Kedwell goes and don't forget Cody can speak to clubs in January aswell, worst comes to the worst we're left with Norris and German upfront. Now I'm sure we'd replace them but who with? At the moment you'd probably think some 19 year old with no league experience on loan until the end of the season. I'm concerned a bit that if we're in a relegation battle come March/April we may not necessarily have the experience to get ourselves out of it. I of course hope I am wrong.
Even if Cody does speak to other clubs, he would still be here til his contract expires. I really hope that Cody doesn't feel the need to leave, but we do need a partner for him up front, and in January preferably.
Sounds like normal football psychology to me. If Danny wants to improve his standing at Priestfield he needs to play better. If he wants to find another club which wants him, he needs to play better. Good management of a player who has been terrific over the last few seasons but who might be nearing the end of his days with injuries and unhelpful lifestyle.
I don't understand this decision, Kewell has been the stand out player for the club for the past few season, significantly better than other player lauded by the fans. But if Taylor is hanging around for the long term then it might be in his best interest to move on. Sad to see him go if he does
Unlike many I don't think Kedwell is as good as they think, equally I don't think he's as bad as a lot of others suggest. He's an ok player and if he stays that's fine, if he goes that's fine. Just remember that at the moment there's nothing official, just a guy blowing off steam after a hard day at work.
Taylor denies Danny going anywhere but has been carrying an injury. Begs the question,"why not get a loan striker in then ?" http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/knee-injury-to-blame-for-27939/
