How many on here were calling for us to sign Graham during the close season or recent transfer window ?? After seeing him play on Saturday and reading a few rumours on the Swansea board looks like we dodged a massive bullet there.
Perhaps another example of how Harry & Co will always know more than we do. Harsh to judge on one game but did not appear to be a particularly talented player.
He certainly looked slow and overweight at the weekend. I was still glad to see him go off though as his rare good games have often been saved for against us.
Sunderland fans have mentioned how crap he has been since joining them. Overhyped player living off his season in the Championship with Watford.
Rumours of too much drinking/smoking and off field problems. A real shame 'cos i thought he had the potential to be a very good player one day.
Telling that Swansea regarded him as a sub at best, must have been laughing all the way to the bank for 5m and did not feel the need to replace him. Fletcher scores goals but 12m for him versus 8m for Remy? No wonder the Mackem board and my Mackem mates have had enough of O'Neill already - Sunderland look very vulnerable indeed.
But Newcastle have looked to have pulled out of it...maybe good for us and our last home match of the season????
Yeah, it was always a bit fanciful that they'd be truly sucked in to a scrap and have shown good form the last month or so. Hopefully their minds will be already on the beach by the time our game comes around.
Graham was never good enough IMO and has been found out.. it was similar to the daft calls for other players that haven't got it. We missed out on M'villa and at the time I was a little disappointed as he is such a good player as I knew was Sissoko however I think many on here will begin to look again at our squad with a more balance mindset. Just look at what QPR are today and just maybe you will see what I am going on about, the owners of our team have backed us and we deserve to back them because this lot are beginning at last to show exactly what we have in strength and depth ... it has taken too long of course but now is the time to feel proud 1 GK Robert Green 2 MF Samba Diakité 3 DF Armand Traoré 4 MF Shaun Derry 5 DF Christopher Samba 6 DF Clint Hill (captain) 7 MF Park Ji-Sung 8 FW Andrew Johnson 10 MF Adel Taarabt 11 MF Shaun Wright-Phillips 12 FW Jamie Mackie 13 DF Yun Suk-Young 14 MF Esteban Granero 15 DF Nedum Onuoha 16 MF Jermaine Jenas 18 FW Loïc Rémy 19 DF José Bosingwa 20 DF Fábio (on loan from Manchester United) 21 DF Tal Ben Haim 23 MF Junior Hoilett 24 GK Radek Černý 25 FW Bobby Zamora 26 GK Brian Murphy 29 MF Andros Townsend (on loan from Tottenham Hotspur) 33 GK Júlio César 37 FW Jay Bothroyd 38 DF Luke Young 40 DF Stéphane Mbia Plus out on loans: 9 FW Djibril Cissé (at Al-Gharafa until the end of the 2012â13 season) 22 MF Hogan Ephraim (at Toronto FC until the end of the 2012â13 season) 27 DF Michael Harriman (at Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the 2012â13 season) 32 MF Alejandro FaurlÃn (at Palermo until the end of the 2012â13 season) 34 FW Rob Hulse (at Millwall until the end of the 2012â13 season) 36 MF Bruno Andrade (at Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the 2012â13 season) 39 FW DJ Campbell (at Blackburn Rovers until 12 May 2013) ââ DF Anton Ferdinand (at Bursaspor until the end of the 2012â13 season) ââ MF Michael Doughty (at St. Johnstone until the end of the 2012â13 season) ââ MF Joey Barton (at Marseille until the end of the 2012â13 season) ââ FW Troy Hewitt (at Colchester United until 27 April 2013)
Being a Geordie does him no favours there either - he needed to win them round quick, and it doesn't look like he's done that
Ahh mate..this is far too easy right now.... A player from the Championship who's gonna set the world and barca alight? Scores goals for fun nutmegs players.. let me just say 2 games 2 wins no adel...(sorry i meant "champioship superstar who'll set the prem alight") and the fails miserrably...... lets see if fing & Col can digest this one... must be some stato who can post something.....either that or I'll start baking some pie for col, dt, yorkie, and many others..gonna be a desperate dan pie i think !! ...slice for Norf too please...
Queens et al. Happy to eat humble pie if it means us staying in PL. That's no to say Adel is exempt from any blame if we do go down. We needed consistently big performances from him, but sadly, as with others, he disappointed.
Have to confess to having been a bit of a Graham fan right up to this last window. What with our painful lack of line-leading goal scorers, saw him as the replacement for Cisse... especially when it looked like we'd missed out on Remy. Still, what do I know? I leave all that kind of stuff to 'Arry...
