Spent the last couple of days In Manchester away from the internet and radio. However I come back to hear the Danny Graham could be leaving Swansea for either Norwich or QPR for the small fee of 12 million! If I remember correctly wasn't the deal 20% of profit? That would be 1.8 million. Can someone confirm or deny this for me? Thanks
12 million pound would be a lot of money for a player like danny graham though, no disrespect to him, but he should not be worth 5 million more than Ba. Laudrup said that he can go.
I believe we would receive 15% on any profit on the £3.5m Swansea paid us Latest rumour is Graham to Sunderland for £4m. If my maths is correct, that would make us £75k (ie 15% of £500k)
It would be good to get some money from a Danny Graham transfer for a change - rather than it being allegedly trousered by ex-backrupts.
Would any funds we receive have any bearing on the FLs decision re the charges relating to his transfer to Swansea?
Danny gave an interview just before Christmas, where he pointed out that Laudrip has publicly said that he would be speaking to players that haven't been playing much in the New Year, adding that he considered himself to be in that bracket and was looking forward to hearing the manager's plans for him. His attitude seems pretty much the same as Big Chris's at the moment: happy to stay at the club, but if he's not wanted he will respect that, continue to train to the best of his ability, and take whatever transfer or loan move materialises.
IF he goes for more than £9m I'll eat my sombrero. Decent striker though, I rate him, should have had an England call by now.
He played his usual game against Arsenal at the weekend - plenty of unselfish running coupled with some decent layoffs, an assist and a goal. Swansea need to get rid!
Far, far better than the hugely overrated Jonjo Shelvey. DG is worth at least 5 Mill for his workrate alone.
But £12M doesn't represent £5M more than Demba Ba's value as he had a £7M release clause in his contract. Given some of the ludicrous prices paid for certain players, Ba should command a fee at the very least three times that amount IMO. In which case the question should be 'Is Danny Graham worth half of Demba Ba?' To which I would say 'yes'.
Danny Graham tweeted earlier that he was London bound...obviously, that's all he said, the little tease...he's probably just out for the night in London with his mates.... or is he?
Graham isn't worth £12m, don't be ridiculous. He's a decent striker for a lower Premier League side and he's at his peak. He's had one decent season at the top level and this season, despite his recent few goals, he's been on the sidelines. I don't see Swansea selling him in January, they can't rely on Michu to do everything and he's just worked his way back into Laudrup's plans. If he went in the Summer... he might go for £6m tops but I doubt it'd be that much.
If we're going to start sticking three or four strikers on the pitch at once, and players keep getting arrested, injured or sent off for wearing the wrong boots, we could probably still use Danny Graham.
