PANIC!!...Just goes to show, you can have all the players, but if you don't have a good manager it won't work. Big Sam is not in the same league as NA or Brian McDermott IMO and this will be proved at the end of April.
West Ham seem to have done well away from home against the teams currently in, and fighting for the play-offs. Which leads me to think, that if Reading pip them to the top two - they will still go up via the play-offs. Which is a shame as they're rather deserving candidates for a Rangers/Pompey style melt down; as they have been blatantly being splashing cash they can't really afford, and have done nothing.
West Ham have one problem. They can only put 11 players on the field at any one time. It's a surprising leveller.
Tbf Chilco, it has actually cramped our style too, hence the calculated gamble of no Bart as proper backup goalie.
I know, I was being ironic. It's just that with all WHU's riches, particularly in the striker department, there is no way they can play even half of them in any game. I agree it's affected us as well, especially not being able to give any of the youngsters a bit of big match experience, but I think it's affected the Hammers more.
Yeah, they simply have too many players of a similar level, that is, they are not quite good enough to, as yet, sustain them as Championship leaders. It may turn out to be different, but it's by no means sure. My opinion of Saints players is that they are, by and large, playing out of their skins, individually and as a team, week after week. I believe this is due to the good habits and principles that Nigel has driven into them, and should last them until the end of their careers. They have simply become better players because of it. And I think there is much more to come from them too.
Never a truer word! Pardew was good at getting the best out of people, and is probably doing the same at Newcastle (like you SS I take little notice of other clubs) but Adkins is a genius. He clearly nurtures players, and they seem ready to run through walls for him. It's bloody great news for us.
Yep, I totally acknowledge Pardew's contribution to get the club's playing attitude hauled around from a losing mentality to a winning one. Nigel has built on that superbly.
We really are your favourite topic of discussion aren't we! Why do you think our squad is so big exactly? GKS: Green, Boffin, Stech LB: McCartney, Potts RB: O'Brien, Demel, CB: Tomkins, Faye, Reid, Collins LW: Taylor, Vaz Te RW: Faubert O'neil Cm: Noble, Collison, Nolan, Lansbury, Diop St: Cole, Maynard, Baldock, Carew Lots of young players on the fringes of the first team are out on loan and Piquionne and Ilunga are also out on loan. So there you go - I hope this goes some way to dispel the myth of West ham having such an overly massive squad. But carry on making things up if it makes you feel superior.
Not really. Just the odd thread. one or two of us tried to steer it away, but you've popped back to annoy. Our forum seems to be your favourite port of call. You can't leave us alone. Where's Cockney Eyetie so I can have a good old chin wag about No.46..?
