Danny Baker loses his BBC London show and gets to vent his spleen. http://audioboo.fm/users/407844/playlists/2932-danny-baker-s-last-show
There are 14 clips there. Are any worth listening too and if so at what point during the clip is the interesting bit? I'm a busy man I'll have you know.
I'm surprised that they didn't pull it, to be honest. There are parts where he's literally slagging off the whole place and saying that everyone there hates each other. Then there are parts focusing on specific bits, pointing out that there are more meeting rooms than studios and that they could save money by sacking 2/3rds of middle management. Was he drunk?
I never listen to BBC London but maybe they are going down the same route as Talksport who've got rid off all their opinionated/interesting presenters: Gary Bushell, James Whale, Mike Mendoza, Terry Christian, George Galloway and replaced them with people such as the plummy voiced bird who let one of Ant and Dec **** her.
The BBC's is a cost cutting exercise rather than a decision based on the worth of the output. Talk Sport sacked folk over personality clashes, ego, vanity and reputation management. Danny Baker just reckoned the BBC chucked it as they last the battle to LBC.
