Some may remember that when Danny received an Australian National team (Socceroo's) call-up a year ago where his performance was described by (then) National Team Coach, Pim Verbeek, as "Absolutely hopeless"!
Danny then left his Melbourne Victory team and took a million dollar offer to join Qatar team Al Raayan. Failing to make an impression he was released half way through the season and joined MLS team DC United (for another reported million) where he again failed to make any impression and his contract was not renewed. Danny was approached by his old Manager (Ernie Merrick) at Melbourne Victory and re-signed for his old Club 5 games ago. Since then Danny has been on fire scoring 5 from 5 and appears to have regained his old touch.
Never much above League One class Danny has nevertheless managed to make a lucrative living from the game since leaving Hull City and returning to Oz.
Meanwhile, another ex-Hull City striker, Michael Bridges has a lucrative contract with Newcastle Jets but has been struck down with injuries this season after making an impressive start and Captained the side early on.
Richard Garcia is said to have an offer on the table from Perth Glory.
There was also a rumour that Phil Brown was in the bracket for the National Team Coach job after Pim Verbeek left.

    You are most welcome.
I forgot to mention that "Big Ben" came out to Oz prior to the Australian A-League being formed when he played for the now defunct Northern Spirit. Ben made a huge impression whilst playing here and there was an effort made to bring him back but he was established with us by that time. I am sure that we have not seen the last of Ben here as he apparently loved his experience last time and there is always openings for experienced strikers of his calibre.
Ex Liverpool striker, Robbie Fowler, continues to put 'bums on seats' with his Perth Glory side and is another who is helping to raise the profile of the game here.

Spare a thought for our Queensland residents who are facing a huge Cyclone due to hit Cairns tomorrow evening (Oz time) where winds of 250 kph are forecast. Thousands have left the area.
This after thousands have been left homeless through devastating floods in the area.

The cyclone looks bad - I was in Cairns last year and there was some discussion about the risks of cyclone damage. Apparently it was always a question of when a cyclone strikes and not if. Surprisingly the plans for such a situation were pretty well non-existent and things could turn very nasty.

Just got back from the Ashes in Australia. Danny was on the main news after signing for Melbourne at Xmas so we thought we would go watch in our City shirts (there were 4 of us).
What a laugh, they beat Newcastle Jets 2-1, 17000 there to watch, Franny Jeffers up front for the Jets!!
Danny couldnt play until Jan 1st due to international transfer but after the game we asked a young lad in a home tracky if he was around.
In an empty stadium Danny came up the tunnel and chatted to us for ages. What a legend.

Got the pics but not606 obviously not capable of uploading it (poor)!

Not forgetting ex-Tiger Harry Ngata, analyst on A-League side Wellington Phoenix for the New Zealand Herald.
He doesn't mention Hull City often!

Wellington Phoenix play in similar colours to us and on their "Yellow Fever" (yellowfever.co.nz) site have a Hull City forum where ex-pats now in New Zealand banter quite often.
When mentioning ex-Hull City striker, Michael Bridges, they always refer to him as "ex-Leeds United" and rarely mention us and the pundits here will often refer to Danny Allsopp's experience with Manchester City but rarely give us a mention.

I'm afraid I don't know of a way to upload a picture directly from your desktop, but if you upload the images to a photo sharing site like flickr, then you can post them with a link on here. <ok>
