@StringerSport: To confirm, it's my understanding that Neil Danns and Jermaine Beckford have been training with the #lcfc U21s
I'm guessing they'll be shipped out on loan ASAP and sold come January, shame as they are both good players but ultimately if they are a bad influence then needs must. I used to like Becks and would have been annoyed at him being shipped out cheaply but the more I read about him then the more I realise that's it'll probably be for the best for all parties.
The reason why Beckford isnt being included is obvious but Danns I can only think of Nigel isnt happy with how he has been using spitter and twitter. He complains he doesnt play and when he did against Burton he played like a pub player. But surely there is more to it then that
2 questions spring to mind: a) How long has this been happening? If it was just yesterday, then I don't think there's an issue. If it's been more regularly, then it looks as though their days are numbered. b) If they were training with the youths, why when asked about them, did NP say it was their job to impress him in training? Bit hard if they aren't training with him?
Doesnt Grayson realise all he is doing by talking in the media about Beckford is pissing off Nigel. If anything it is making his chances of getting him smaller http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....icester-City/story-16988745-detail/story.html
FFS This is the whole Waghorn scenario all over again. Because Danns is not playing, he is Messi and Ronaldo rolled into one or something. All he does is run around a lot - stop mistaking industry for effectiveness! As for Beckford - won't miss him if he is gone.
After watching them smash Blackpool on Monday, cant see why they would want Beckford, apart from cover. James Vaughan is a much better option.
Ian Stringer ‏@StringerSport Pearson on Danns&Beckford "normal practice for non-squad players not to train with 1st team. I will choose the squad for any given game"
Basically neither have a future here With Nugent and Waghorn both scoring hat tricks this week they will be firmly first choice along with Jamie Vardy for now And with Wellens returning now Danns future doesn't look very bright either
It's a shame with Danns. He just doesn't fit our system but he's a very talented footballer. He'll be a great signing for anyone in this league.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19746559? Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has insisted Jermaine Beckford and Neil Danns have a future at the club despite making them train with the under-21s. Striker Beckford, 28, has only started three games this season and almost left in August, while midfielder Danns, 29, has only started one match. I will choose the squad for any given game and it was the same last year. Once the squad is named, that's how it is Both players were left out of the squad for Sunday's win over Hull City. Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's normal practice for players who are not in the squad not to train with us." When asked if the pair have a future with the Foxes, Pearson said: "Absolutely. I will pick the squad that is right and everything else that goes on will go on in its own time." Beckford, a £4m signing from Leeds () in August 2011, has only played five games this season - with just two starts in the Championship. Danns has only appeared in three matches, with his sole start coming in the Capital One Cup. Pearson said: "Rumours start and I don't know where they come from. I always have the squad who are playing the following day. "I will choose the squad for any given game and it was the same last year. Once the squad is named, that's how it is."
Think Danns will eventually force his way back into the reckoning- if he's not sold in January, which is a possibility, then he'll be a good player in the second half of the season. James, King and Drinkwater are all young and are bound to get fatigued or injured at some point. Beckford I think is probably done with, a shame as I think a Nugent-Beckford partnership is probably better than a Vardy-Nugent one (it seemed to work last season). Just hope that Pearson does what some managers are doing and ban twitter, surprised he hasn't done so already. I don't even use twitter and just by word of ear it doesn't sound a good idea.
This is why Pearson dislikes him. I heard he sent Shaky out to do the pre and post match interviews on Sunday. Obviously thought Stringer would be mischievous regarding Pearson Jr. signing!
