I sincerely hope that Daniel returns to fitness a.s.a.p. However I am have a small fear that there could possibly be a mental block along the way. Sometimes people are great at being No2 in life, yet when asked to step up to the number 1 the fear factor kicks in as the pressure and expectancy dawns. I really hope I am wrong and that Daniel has genuine physical fitness problems. This is just a theory.......your thoughts please..
Unlikely I would have thought. He doesn't seem like a man short of self-confidence and he's been injury prone his whole career. I think it's genuine.
lol Sturridge is a very confident player who didn't like playing second fiddle to Suarez. He'll be fine, although working off far less service.
It is an interesting theory. I don't think the body is linked to the mind that much but still..... I have to wonder if he will score 20 goals a year (obviously hard now this year) as the main man but i would point to the first 5 games last year where sturridge scored and stepped up... now equally he could have been looking at suarez returning as well but i just feel he has a high opinion of himself and will want to be the main man.
Sturridge has never actually been the main man before. At City he was a youngster, at Chelsea he was third choice striker, at Bolton he lead the line but was only the young loanee, until this season he played second fiddle to Suarez for us. For England Rooney gets all te attention and critics. It will be interesting to see how he adapts but he seems like a confident, and slightly arrogant (in a good way) player to me.
