Well it makes sense as we need another CB, but this is just another rumour unless the club comes out and says we are in for him.

I take these kind of things with a large pinch of salt

Well, we're hoping it is just a rumour, but since it's on BBC there may be some truth in it. The latest on this was he was discussing personal terms with us but the prospect of more money plus the PL would probably sway it.

A class defender, gutted if you get him, but can't blame him for choosing PL above a move to us.

He was the stand out defender in a struggling team when he came on loan to us beginning of last season, we climbed the table with him and wanted to extend his loan but then he got injured, went back to liverpool. Hodgeson blamed Hull for his injury which was rubbish so they snubbed Hull and let him join Derby on loan second half of season & apparently impressed there too. They can't afford him though, we could. LFC have quite a lot of promising CBs so his future there was uncertain, he's a class act in the Championship, good distribution and has the talent to step up to the PL. He's only 20 and it will be a big challenge if he goes to you.

If this is true I will be very happy indeed. Is he left footed?...

Yes he did. Top player imo and just the kind of signing I've been going on about for weeks on here. Really hope we can pull this off.

Good kid, nice skills lacks a bit of experience but from previous pre-seasons and what he did at Derby and Hull no loan I think he'd be a good signing. Looks like Buck is pencilling Tatey in as our fullback cover and moving for another centreback, so Ayala might be a good option for what he's trying to do.

Young, hungry, cheap-ish and talented - just what I like to see!

"Nice skills", "top player", "class defender", "stand out defender", "good distribution and has the talent to step up to the PL". I like what I'm reading. Liverpool wouldn't have signed him in the first place if he hadn't shown a lot of potential. He's only 20, shouldn't cost a bomb and might feel at home with Orlandi and Rangel at the club.

Come on, Buck, use your best Spanish and get him signed. Oh, and he's 6'3" as well. With Caulker already on board our defence would get that long needed physical presence.

    "shouldn't cost a bomb".

Apparently, Hull have had a £750,000.00 offer accepted, but nothing finalised yet. They will justifiably be very upset if Swansea come in and sign him up.

Upset, for sure. But we can offer money and a chance of Prem football whilst they can offer neither so who can blame the lad if he changes his mind? Think some Tigers fans have said as much on here. This one should be in the bag and I'll be chuffed if it happens.

Vetch, 750k?? That's right in our ball park. Hull can be as upset as they like because if our roles were reversed they would do exactly the same thing. How often have we been outbid on a player? Time for us to use a little muscle when we can to get what we want for a change. I really hope we go for this one.

I for one, would love to see this one go through! 20 so young, and probably very hungry to break through in the Premiership after limited oppurtunities at Liverpool (only played 5 times). From the comments, he seems a very exciting prospect and I would love to see him here. Cheap too ;)<ok>
