Hi, I write for the Wrexham FC matchday programme and am just typing up an article about our new arrivals with one being Daniel Alfei on loan.

I am just wondering if any fans have seen much of Alfei in the Swansea City reserves or for the Wales Under 21s. If so, I am after a short quote about his performances and / or potential that could be used in the next programme.

If anyone can help please message me back or send me an e-mail.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

Sorry, not seen the reserves much but from my understanding, he is well thought of.

More importantly....you guys have done amazing things on and off the field this year. Good luck in your quest to get back into the show (and you can't lose the Conference title to a team named after a dodgy band)
You are making Wales proud <cheers>

    Whats your views on Obeng?

Daniel Alfei hasn't played much in fairness, restricted to a few games in the cup really. He did get man of the match against Colchester a year or two ago though, playing well at full back, and looks like he has enough technique and pace to become a solid right back. After the success of Neil Taylor, I see no reason why Alfei couldn't eventually repeat that kind of learning curve?

Hasn't really been in the 1st team. Couple of occasions last season in the cup & in the Shrewbury league cup debacle this season. Where only him and another kid Joe Walsh, came out with much praise from our gaffer!! Seen him in a few reserve matches this season & I personally like him. Played generally as a centre-back for them, but has played at full-back for us too!! Good lad, comfortable, like just about all Swans' players, on the ball. Seems assured in his role & a player maybe who can develop further with regular 1st team experience at a good club like yours!! You have a good manager, in a great position, play good football (what I saw against Brighton replay) & hopefully he can be good for you & you be good for him. When he comes back, hopefully, he'll come back like Joe Allen did & somewhere near the chap Taylor, you sent us....

I completely forgot he's been playing at centre back for the reserves! Do we know where Wrexham want to play him? CB or FB?

Ditto to what the above posters have said. I recall one game last season when I was very impressed with him. Can't remember which one but it would have been the first team. Or was it the season before? Old age.

Good luck to Wrexham. A return to league football is well overdue.

Thanks very much for everybody's help, it is always nice to have a fans' oppinion for this type of article and it sounds like Alfei comes highly recommended.

I hope Wrexham can continue to do Wales proud and promotion back to the football league remains the target with just 16 matches left.

It is also nice to see Swansea flying the flag in the Premier League, how few times you've entered games as underdogs this season tells it's own story.

In regards to Curtis Obeng, he is coming good. Always been good attacking but also showing maturity in his defending this season. I think Brendan Rodgers must have plans to utilise him at the tail end of the season otherwise I'm sure he would have re-joined on loan to help finish the job he has been a huge part of. Hopefully you'll be safe with a good few games left and he could get a run in the team for some vital experience that way.

In regards to Alfei, I've heard from a few sources that he is a really good centre-back (Brian Flynn rates him VERY highly!) Although, in Mark Creighton and Nat Knight-Percival we have a defensive pairing that does not need to be broken. Neil Ashton is our regular left-back so I just see Alfei slotting into the right-back position left by Obeng, which we also have very little cover in.

Good luck for the rest of the campaign.

    Cheers,

    Dan
