He had his best game in awhile for me on Saturday was looking really good before the sending off but he kept at it hope it’s a sign of good things to come
He's learning on the job. He will make (and has made) mistakes but the good far outweighs the bad and I love how brave he is on the ball. Was immense on Saturday
Agree. Aspects of his game are visibly improving.....his positional play, his awareness, his breaking up the play and using the ball...I like what I'm seeing from him.
He could do worse than watch Martin Odegaard in the Arsenal v Spurs match yesterday. He is a superb all round midfielder, he tackles, he shoots, takes free kicks, and is the captain of club and his country ( Norway ). A tall order but no reason why Dan can't reach those heights.
I am sure that game time is all he needed to show his undoubted quality, same with one or two others, including our present No 1.
Or, perhaps he could ask Jordan Henderson's dad if he can borrow some of his DVD's of his Son in his European Cup Winning Season. If nothing else it will show him that local Lads CAN achieve great things.
I've been taken aback by how much he's come on this season. There was never much in the past to suggest he'd relish the physical side of the game and here he is now leading the way in tackles per game. He must be like a sponge soaking up advice and instructions. Great to see.
Some of our most clueless fans think hes awful. A really talented lad who has adapted fantastically to the level and continues to get better. Exciting that hes Sunderland thru and thru as well.
Plenty of our fanbase wrote Henderson off as "****e" in his early days. Local lads get unwarranted abuse from certain parts of our supporters
His off the ball work has improved so much in recent weeks. He was 21 only a few weeks ago, he’s got so much potential. I hope he’s here for years but there’ll be some strong interest in the summer, you’d imagine.
Anyone who cannot see the player that Dan Neil is and what he might become should consider watching fishing or crown green bowling.
From memory, Pickford is the only one in recent years who hasn't had that level of abuse - Hendo, Honeyman, Embo, dan Neil and Gooch all get/got completely unwarranted abuse from certain sections
Mostly to do with TV I think. Some see top quality, proven internationals on the box, and assume that all players can do those things, all the time. Even in League One!
