I met him tonight and he is fit and back in training for a couple of days. Bring on the left back debate....
Fox to keep his place. He is turning his performances up at the moment and is vital for crosses, corners and free kicks. Against Watford the team played well so I wouldn't change to much. Glad to here Harding is back in training he is a top player but I think he may have to wait a bit before he starts a match.
Is this a thread or an unexploded WMD? The vitriol aimed at the unfortunate Harding has been amazing. I've always liked the guy. He seems an honest hard working player and rarely lets us down (any more than any other player at this level), but he seems to be singled out for a hate campaign. Fox has taken advantage of Harding's absence to begin to show why Nige was keen to get him. Unless Fox has a really horrible game, I anticipate seeing Harding back for the Carling Cup game to see how he is going. It's a nice problem to have as either to get into the first team of other championship sides. They'l both get games as the season unfolds, and Nige will keep them both happy on account of the fact that he is a genius!
Fox stays ahead of him atm, after his performance against Watford. Brilliant. Great having such good competition in the squad.
This is what competition is for. Fox had to be patient to take his chance and now Harding will probably have to be patient to take his chance.
No WMD. I like Harding and I like Fox. Good to have choices. I agree about the vitriol; it amazes me for that to happen to any saints player really. Harding is an amiable chap too.
There is no reason to drop Fox. If he has a shocker or gets injured then fine, but we don't have anyone in the team who can cross a ball as well as him.
This what makes our team so exciting, and why Nigel has such a tough job. Agreed Fox played well against Watford after a dodgy first few games, but he's shown enough to keep his place in the team, especially making us more of a threat from set-pieces. We've at least 2 players for every position now, fantastic squad.
As much as I like Dan H I don't think we have to rush him back as Foxie has done enough in my view to keep his place, he will be under a lot of pressure to keep his place so I reckon we will get 100% effort.
Sorry dude but we don't have replacements for Lambert or Lallana that can perform to the same level.... not starting just stating.
Can't argue with that. I like Dan Harding, but he will have to wait. Class is permanent, form is temporary, he will get his chance.
We are lucky to have the choice and as someone posted earlier, we have that in most positions apart from a Rickie like striker. Lallana was also mentioned, though we do have options, thereof only one Lallana
I wasn't impressed with Fox, however he improved against Watford so I think now it would be a tough decision Good competition though
