Dan Duffy - PL Groundsman of the year!!

Just got this of John Van Zwenden's Facebook page.

We are delighted to inform you that #DanDuffy, #SwanseaCity #Groundsman, has been awarded the #BarclaysPremierLeague #GroundsmanoftheYear. Another trophy for the cabinet.

 

Much deserved.

And the Prem have awarded that just on the basis of how it is as a football pitch without even considering the dual purpose.


Awesome job.

 

Whats even more amazing is the cost we paid to have the best pitch, compared to other teams.

 

Cardiff have the same pitch I believe, but its the people looking after it that counts. I know they had problems to begin with due to finances, but I expect them to be giving us a run for the money next season now that they don't have rugby there.

 

Anyway congrats to our guys for doing a fantastic job again

 

Jäger, the Malaysian groundsman couldn't have won that award because they haven't had their one season in the Premier League yet

And it didn't cost that much according to our Turf Accountant! Good job ground staff!

 

Nice to see the levels of professionalism from top to bottom in the Swans. We'll probably get 'tea lady of the year' or 'best pint in a plastic glass' award soon too!

 

I know Dan very well and it comes as no surprise that he is awarded the accolade as best groundsman.....wembley have been trying to get him to work for them for years and he has always turned them down......proud of him....

 

Thought it would be a paddy field
