According to paper reports West Ham are preparing a £4m bid for Dan Burn in the January window. Source: http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...t-ham-mulling-move-for-gbp4m-burn_188496.html Yet another rumour about others being after our youngsters. If the price got bumped up a tad we'd seriously have to consider ... but only if we've got a replacement lined up. Hutchinson hasn't found his feet (yet) in this League, Arthurworrey, who is on loan at the moment could come good (but not yet) and Casasola hasn't put in an appearance (anywhere as yet). Maybe this where Chris Baird fits into the picture??
We're going to see a lot of stories like this over the next few months no doubt. Burn's contract effectively runs until 2016 (2015 + an option) so we should hold onto him unless he is subject to a bidding war or West Ham make a silly offer. I'm pleased to see LVC is under contract until 2017. Anyone know about the rest of the youngsters? According to their profiles on the website George Williams and Moussa Dembele are out of contract in the summer. Roberts has a deal until 2016, as do Woodrow and Hyndman. Chris David is tied to the club until 2017. I'm not sure about Kavanagh. Stating the obvious, I know, but it'll be a lot easier to hold onto these players if can win promotion sooner rather than later.
Surely Dan Burn is the last player we should be thinking about selling? A player that's proven at the level we're currently playing at, our vice-captain and a leader despite his young age. £4m really isn't worth our while considering. P.S. £4m will become £6m when we add on the mandatory 'young English player premium of 50%'.
Kit has addressed this, apparently; http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...edia&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=HITCsport
