At long last the Club have acknowledged the contribution of Damien Duff. Here's a link to the article on the website - it's a bit too long to post the text and includes a 'slideshow'. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/may/31/duffers-farewell
He was a class act all the way, on and off the pitch. Farewell, Duffers, you'll be fondly remembered.
The fact that his current injury was a result of coming in on a day off to do some extra training says everything about the man. If more footballers had the mindset of Duffers football would be much better off. I can't wait to see him playing in the League of Ireland in the future. At Fulham though he'll always be fondly remembered as part of 'that' team.
The article sums it up brilliantly by saying he was a true professional. He must surely have been a huge role model for many of the young players at the club. Great player with a huge heart. Enjoy whatever you do following your life at the cottage duffers.
Worked so hard all the time, never a grumble when not playing. Roy got best out of him. His goal against Newcastle at the Cottage after they had heckled him all game I remember fondly.
He's off to Oz: "Damien Duff is set to join Melbourne City after being released by Fulham. After spending five years at Craven Cottage, the Dubliner became a free agent this summer. The 35 year old will join the newly renamed A-League outfit, as their first major signing since being bought by Manchester City’s affluent United Arab Emirates based owners. The club was known as Melbourne Heart before being sold." Full story: http://sportsnewsireland.com/soccer/soccer_irish/damien-duff-to-join-melbourne-city/
Damien Duff has joined Australian club Melbourne City on a free transfer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27776082 I hope he's getting a good pay day. One of my favourite Fulham players. Thank you for your service Duffer.
Indeed he's getting the highest possible wage. He's getting $2.55m which is the salary cap down there. He'll play alongside David Villa next year.
