Just been watching First Fast Now on Sky and just seen some breaking news that Damien Comolli (sp?) has left Liverpool. Can't find a link but if someone can that will be great. Thanks Found one - http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/damien-comolli-to-leave-lfc and another thanks to Haslam - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17687524
If, as you would expect, Comolli has been ditched because the Players signed are not of the level LFC hoped, then undoing this, by moving them on, could be a very difficult and expensive process. Unless Kenny has some help, and is backed with both cash to replace those who need to go & enhance a squad in need of serious work, this re-building process just took another turn for the worse. Big bucks & big balls required from your owners.
Damien Comolli to leave LFC What is happening behind close door.....any one to follow.? Is this a starter.? Director of Football position is usually not good for any club.
So does this mean that Kenny is now going to be given sole decision making responsibilities in the transfer market? I'm all for giving the man another year, but can't say I'm keen on his transfer policies.
Damien Comolli commented: "I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to work at Liverpool and am happy to move on from the Club and back to France for family reasons. I wish the Club all the best for the future." Principal Owner John Henry said: "We are grateful for all of Damien's efforts on behalf of Liverpool and wish him all the best for the future." Liverpool Chairman Tom Werner added: "The Club needs to move forward and we now have a huge game on Saturday. It is important that everyone joins us in supporting the manager and gets behind Kenny and the team and focuses on a strong finish to the season." - Suggests its not all football or business related. I wonder if they will replace him.
I'd laugh if our team for next season ended up ---------------Foster---------------- Johnson--Carragher--Dann---Bridge--- ---------Henderson---Adam----------- --------------Gerrard----------------- -------Bent--------------Downing------ ---------------Carroll------------------
Following Comolli's departure on Thursday, Dalglish said: "He has been really helpful in every transfer target that we've gone for. "Everyone who has come into the club since Damien has been here was of my choice. "Once I made the choice who I wanted, Damien went away and did a fantastic job of bringing them in. "It's sad to see anyone leave the football club and he goes with my best wishes."
Kenny says he was responsible for the signings therefore I reckon DC was responsible for the sums paid. It's a shame he has gone IMO - I think DC has a wider network and can help attract foreign players and I for one would have wanted to see him stay over the summer.
HILARIOUS! Literally this is just about as funny as it can get. Just when you thought the circus couldn't throw you another curve it throws in a rollercoaster of uncertainity for the summer. I'm going to enjoy seeing how we react to this one. In particular i'm going to laugh out loud at every single LFC fan who comes on and says this must mean we're bringing rafa back in.
So kenny was behind all our signings, that's annoying, Kinda hoped DC would be culpable for some of our failures in the transfer market
