After one appearance in the Europa League qualifiers LDV the First has been loaned out to Dundee United until January, with an option to extend the deal for the rest of the season. Seems like a sensible move to me. If he gets a season of first team action under his belt north of the border he'll gain experience and we'll learn a bit more about how good he is.
Agreed, Fulhamish. Judging from comments from people who saw more of him at Bournemouth than I did, he's got something. Judging from what I saw, plus the Europa games, whatever he's got isn't ready for us yet. I don't know much about Dundee Utd's squad, but I would imagine he'll get games there. If he doesn't, then there's not a lot of point to this loan. It's good news.
Would perhaps rather he'd moved to a championship side rather than play in that mickey mouse league in scotland, though as you say at least he'll be getting a decent number of games.
From what I've seen, he needs to be playing regularly in an environment where he has to toughen up the physical side of his game. Without wanting to disparage Scottish football, I wouldn't be surprised if that was what the Scottish Premier league offered him. He'll also get a few games at serious stadia with a proper big-match atmosphere when Dundee Utd play the Old Firm sides. It sounds good to me. As for Mickey Mouse league, the criticism that the top two are streets ahead of the rest could have been fairly levelled at the English Premier League for most of the last five (at least) years. Admittedly, the gap between the top clubs and the rest differs in scale, but we're no better in terms of how many teams start the season with any realistic chance of winning the thing.
