As soon as I seen it on the website I thought the exact same thing. Its nice for it to come from him, after all, everyone trusts King Kenny, no matter how critical of a Liverpool fan you are
This article proves that all the panicking was of a massive waste. You guys need to chill out.I remember the last time Kenny was boss,I think it was late 1989 and I was beginning my time as a Liverpool fan),I was 13 years old.And I used to say to myself ''Did Liverpool really sign him''.Nobody knew who Liverpool were signing until after they were signed. That was the ''Liverpool way''. I reckon there was massive speculation in 1977 when Kevin Keegan left on who was replacing him.I believe that 20 names were bandied about. They were all in fact wrong. It wasn't until Bob Paisley unveiled the then ''Prince of Parkhead'' one Kenneth Matheson Dalglish that anyone knew who King Kevs replacement was.
Thanks kenny. That statement was exactly what was needed. In the transfer market we''ll win some and we'll lose some but i have confidence that we'll have a strong squad by the time of pre-season.
Agreed and when combined with John Henry said then it should maybe calm things a tiny bit. Reading into it a bit, i noticed how neither of them have said 'the squad we have is fine' or 'we've already signed Henderson' or things like that. The kind of things that precede a lack of transfers. Pardew did this the other day and quite a few Newcastle fans were worried because they were convinced a flurry of early cheap signings was to appease the fans and that not much more would be done. Here the 2 main men have said no doubt we're signing more players, don't worry as we're getting it done, patience. Both come across with class and calm, not a hint of struggle about it.
Carra as you would expect from a student of the game echoes Kenny's sentiments.I'm not all surprised.Thats the reason why I'm unfazed at the moment with the lack of transfer activity.I reckon when the next player is signed theres going to be an avalanche of signings.Expect 4-5 to come all at once.
yeah good point about Carra! If the owner, manager and our most senior player making reassuring noise over transfers in the space of 2 days isn't a coordinated plan then i don't know what is.
A year ago we were linked with two buyers: Yahya Kirdi and Kenny Huang. They were household names for the coverage they got. The number of people who had us linked with NESV? Zero.
Yes they said we were being bought by the Chinese! If the rags can't predict who's going to buy the club how are they gonna predict the transfers?!
It's good to hear Kenny coming out with these quotes. It is better for all the parties involved if the transfer business is done behind closed doors. I now trust the club to make sure that we are getting the best deal regarding transfers in and out of Liverpool FC.
