"Afterwards, Dalglish told LFC TV: "Obviously we're disappointed at losing the game. It doesn't matter whether it was a pre-season friendly or not, but the fact it is pre-season gives us a wee bit of solace" .http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/kenny-on-hull-and-new-boys
agreed. Yes it is pre-season but it is better to see the faults NOW than the first game of the season..... long as he sorts it, top stuff.
The main point in that interview......... "If they're going to stake a claim for a first-team place, they've got to earn it. We've given them every opportunity to get themselves fit and try and earn that right to play in the first team, but they'll need to do better than that if they want it."
Absolutely spot on..give the players the responsibility to get them selves ready..those that cant then shouldn't be anywhere near the squad let alone the first team.It is a concern that we are conceding so many.I remember last 2 years the poor preseason performances carried over into the season and we never seemed to shake it off.So will be looking for a much better performance in our next couple of games and possibly a more settled team in at least 1 of those games
I bet he is and so he should be but then again what do expect playing the likes of N'Gog and Paulson.I know its important that all the players get fit but I always feel in friendlys you should start with a strongest possible 11 and then change it during the 2nd half. But i am sure KK and Clarke know what they are doing and I think we will see more of the 1st team squad in the next few games.
You are 100 percent right... I also remember that, and some people said it was only pre-season.Rafa Benitez failed to get it right.
Yes we know. We treat games against you as a day most of the time. Probably because you usually make it so easy for us. (We had Hodgson in charge before you present your next argument)
It aint our cup final, it was your lack of heart spirit and fighting qualities when a challenge was put up. Bit of a difference. Chelsea were the highlight wins last season, them being champions n all at the time. This season willbe different in that respect I reckon. Barca treated the game against ye like a cup final though. Oh wait..
Swarbs. Cup final?Isn't that against us? ----------------- Nah our cup finals are usually against big clubs.
That was down to injuries, not pre-season with a bunch of players on the transfer list who really couldn't be arsed because they knew they were being shipped. Anybody got any research on a wide, clear and regular pattern of seasonal failure following a loss in a warm-up game with Svenlike substitutions and linesups we'd never use in a season? In other news, rumours are hardening that we're recruiting Chicken Licken as a fan representative on the board.
Spurs went into the start of last season condeding 4 away more than once, they carried this into the season and all the way through, losing a match like Hull is one thing, but a defence being consistently beaten erodes confidence in that defence
The pressure is going to get to Ryan Giggs shortly.I just hope for his sake that he doesn't develop Rioferdinanditis and not forget to not drop his bar of soap.
I repeat: wide, clear and regular. What you've given is one example, which will always be present. Spurs did finish above us last season with their leaky defence. You're right, of course, that being beaten erodes confidence in that defence. So provided we're not putting Kyrgiakos and Wilson in the heart of our defence in front of a sub keeper we won't have to worry about our confidence being eroded in that particular defence.
mmmmmmmmmmm..and i think most of those players are still there, not shipped out and still couldn't give a rats arse!!! I am not panicking about a loss to Hull but the fact still remains it erodes confidence in the younger players who we may well have to rely on at times during the season. I know when we have a full strength team we will be a match for anyone it just annoys me that certain players look totally disinterested or incapable of moving to a level of performance that we need.
I think it is disappointing losing the game yesterday but if anything, it confirms to Kenny and the fans that some players simply aren't good enough and need to go. It's better to know that now rather than halfway through the season.
