Signed a new 2 year deal.

Good news I think as he has been a decent player in the main when given the chance.

Also signed on Chez Issacs and Tommie Hoban who impresse people at Preston I belive.

Some positive news there for you guys on a day when we've had some worrying stories.

I've still yet to make my mind up on Bennett. Impressive last season (Jay DeMerit, Mike Williamson and Craig Cathcart have all done well at a higher level, so it's not as if our expectations were low), but largely disappointing this season.

Signing as our third choice centre back was definitely the right move for player and club at this point in time. But does he have it in him to become a first team regular one day?

I think he would benefit from a loan spell with regular games. This depends on us getting cover in though.

He made an excellent start, but he's not been so impressive in his last few appearances. It's hard to impress when you come on for Tiny though, i suspect. He will get better, i'm sure. I feel he has the talent, he just concentrates too much at times...

The more we can keep our Academy youngsters and bring them on to full team the better for us both financially and in terms of respect for developing kids

Coz lets face it we are heavily dependant on them now ,and that dependance is only going to grow as each `star`gets flogged off!

Also it is a sustainable way of running a club outside the Prem. If you can get a constant stream of players and use those you need and perhaps sell any that are doubling up on strong positions you will run a much more efficient club

The Academy is our saving grace, it would seem. Without it, we'd be in a far worse position, and it definitely is something we can be very proud of :)

Although even that wont save us without a couple of seasoned pro`s to guide the kids!

Having good troops is good , but it is a good general that can make them great
