Interesting little G3 at Nottingham tomorrow (today if you are reading this tomorrow!)

The 4-20 is a 10f handicap with a few in with chances of some sort. I'm siding with Open Water, currently available at 13-2 BOG with PP.

Has clearly had injury problems, but his second place finish 2 weeks ago in a class 2 at Salisbury, indicated his well being. A year ago he was rated on a par with the re-opposing Fennel Bay in the race where he (presumably) got injured and is now rated 9lb inferior.

I don't think the distance OR the going will suit FB but WILL suit Open Water. The pundits are all over Amaze on the basis of a good second in a recent grade 4, but I doubt he has the class of the selection. Andrew Balding doesn't seem to go to the Midlands track much, but takes two others along with OW. Chesil Beach is an unraced 2yo and Montally has run once with some promise.

Another interesting newcomer in the 2yo opener is Sea Here, by Sea The Stars from Oaks heroine Look Here, And I'd think quite a lot of people will be looking here :)

Other meetings are Wetherby, Kempton, Lingfield and Punchestown. Good luck ALL <ok>

There is a horse racing at Nottingham tomorrow called Prostate Awareness..... The mind boggles!

A cheeky Charlie Longsdon barney rubble (feeling very poetic this evening!) for me tomorrow over at Wetherby, 3.55 Grandads Horse and 5.00 Long Wave. Any positive vibes from Stick (i wont get poetic with that one....!) would be very welcome!

Morning all, Kealigolane, Stormy Weather and Riguez Dancer from Wetherby in an ew patent. The first race at Nottingham is a 2 yo maiden. The Goldolphin favourite is not certain to like the soft ground. Only one of the field has raced on worse than good so I would not be surprised to see the favourite turned over. I'm risking a few quid ew on Alan Kings Gimme Five @ 100/1. Good luck all.

Jamie up to his tricks again on Café Society. Even the commentator states before the race it will be interesting to see if the horse is ridden closer to the pace today, of course Jamie takes a pull and gives 6 lengths before the furlong pole is reached. When it came to the finish he had to go around and then cut inside and never got out of 3rd gear. The commentator remarked about his run by saying Café society had to come wide and then cut inside and got messed about, he did not however have to do any of that were Jamie to have ridden a start. I have very little sympathy for connections however as if ever there is a horse that Jamie does not suit it's this one and he nearly got it beat when it won it's race earlier this year even though was head and shoulders above the opposition. Jamied I'm afraid......

Unlucky on Island Remede Shearer - two more strides and it would have won, I think with the slow ground it just took a little longer to reach top gear than expected. A horse worth following in the same grade however.

I know there is a teachers strike tomorrow but is there a forum strike today? Had to fight my way through tumbleweed to get here this afternoon!

Grandads Horse ran out a nice winner earlier to continue the Longsdon hot streak! He must be closing in on Nicky Hendersons title as the forums favourite trainer!

One for me this evening over at Kempton Park - 5.40 Coconut Kisses. Ran well two runs back off a 5lb higher mark than today. Ran poorly last time but class 6 handicappers tend to do that fairly often as they arent the most consistent of animals! Has the master Richard Hughes up today, drawn well and off a decent mark.

Martin Lane rode the horse LTO Blue, and both he and JS have ridden similar races leading one to conclude they are riding to orders, despite hold up tactics being very much the JS modus operandi.

I actaully thought the horse had every chance turning in and for me didn't appear to put it all in.He has gone up a stone in his last two runs without winning and was even raised a pound after being beaten 2.25L LTO.

The winner hosed up today so I suppose the best he could have finished was second in any case.

Cafe Society is now,for a lot of punters,an unlucky loser for the third consecutive time.

Not for me...he was a ridiculously overbet horse today given his style of running, previous two "unlucky defeats" and the characteristics of the Lingfield Park A/W course.

    Just my opinion.

Only managed to get 20s on this earlier but more confident about its chances now you've put it up

I do agree with the points you have made Dex and I do feel the horse is not straight forward but I just wish that Jamie would have a plan B when the gates open other than give ground. I think the horse is decent enough and the trainer has spoken of him in such terms, I just felt today it was no brainer to at least try different tactics after the last two runs. If they fail they fail but they say the mark of stupidity is to try the same thing expecting a different result and that's what happened with café society today unfortunately. As you say it was a very bad price today anyway and I am sure it will not stop people punting it again next time.

    A Legacy Of Love 13/2

Amanda Perrett's 2 year olds are never fully wound up for their debuts (only 1 winning juvenile debutant in the past few years) and having run well despite greenness on first racecoure appearance I think this well bred daughter of Sea The Stars should go very close to scoring tonight. A 200,000 Gns purchase as a yearling, A Legacy Of Love is the first foal of the smart 4 times Listed winning Nashmiah and she definitely ran well enough on debut amidst inexperience to suggest she's going to be winning races very soon. A Legacy Of Love made her debut last month over this C+D under Jim Crowley when a promising enough 6th and given how much I expect her to improve I think she's primed for a big performance tonight. Well drawn in stall 5 tonight, I fancy A Legacy Of Love to go very close if building on her first run for an in form Amanda Perrett team.
