Lingfield 16.50. As I indicated earlier this evening, Al Jamal should have no trouble here; and now I know the price he looks a steal at 85/40 with Bet Victor. Thought he might be odds on.

I see Ed Walker has a handicap debutant in the last--Able Dash @25/1 at the mo-- stepping up in trip, with blinkers, T McLaughin on board-- a healthy success rate with 3 yo s at the track-- last ran against Winterlude.....

Morning, crew. Hope everyone on board well. Not the most topical of tips given that today is a Scorcher with a capital ‘S’ but as my regular readers are aware it’s all about RADIATOR (3.20 Lingers Park) for me today.

Been very interested in this one ever since Sir Michael entered the unraced filly in a Listed heat. That’s something he very rarely does as the old boy is not one to call his geese swans. Ultimately, of course, she didn’t go to the Listed race instead running in a maiden at ‘Glorious’ Gooders where she faired respectably behind Amazing Maria, what a lovely name for a filly by the way. That latter named animal has, incidentally. since scooted up in a Group 3 event.

Those bookie chappies are taking absolutely no chances re Radiator this afternoon and clearly believe she is both ‘hot’ and ready to ‘burn off the opposition’ as they quote just 4/5 about her winning. Not a price for a simple working man, such as my good self, but I’m very keen to see how she fares and the old girl will have to undoubtedly win with something in hand to take up her Group 1 entry later this month.

    Good luck, pilgrims.

Plus i think he has good vibes for the rest of his stable... again took from ATR... http://www.attheraces.com/article.aspx?hlid=537851&lid=&raceid=&title=Bobs+to+be+kept+busy&ref=PA+Racing+Feed&nav=&sub=&day=Wed

Henderson claimed his first trainers' title since 1987 last season and is determined not to relinquish it. "I've still got the hunger, I want to go and win every bloody race there is and we've got a very strong team, both equine and human," he said.

Sounds like he is in tip top form Barney... Which will no doubt please you...<cheers>

Would have been great to see him at Kempton but perhaps later in his career.

Sir Nicky had the 3m+ division well covered with Long Run,Bobs Worth and Simonsig.

Sausage sandwich with English mustard (is there really any other?) and a big bottle of Whitewater Brewery Belfast Lager...positively tropical here.

Off for a look at the cards.

    3.20 - Radiator, 4/5 - SBC + Piper Hill, 11/10 - Drever + Al Jamal, 13/8 - Ron @ £10 = £90.20

    Its worth a £10 for them 3 shorties...<ok>

If Sprinter Sacre was mine I’d keep his running plans, providing he stays sound, a mirror image of 2012/13. For the next couple of terms at least. I really don’t think he needs to prove himself over 3 miles as the horse is a speedball pure and simple and to appreciate him at his best and to see him perform to his full capacity he needs to race at 2 miles or just beyond.

I really, really, really do not like pure 16-20 furlong horses stepping up to 3 miles in the ‘King George VI’ on St Stephen’s Day. I think it bottoms them and leads to a premature end to their career – Azertyiuop being the obvious example from my lifetime. Whilst Master Minded never ran again following his try at the heat. The phrase ‘Kempton is an easy 3 miles’ so winds me up as there is no such thing!

No ‘top table’ do for me today. A cheese and tomato baguette, some cheesy Doritos and a banana. All washed down with a bucket of ice cold water.

Speaking of lunch I'm just off out with the bride for a bite to eat at The Teddington Hands pub - can't recommend it highly enough. It's about 6 miles outside Cheltenham on the Evesham to Cheltenham road. If anyone is in the vicinity feel free to pop by, I will be the one stuffing his face with the 'Codfather'!!

The market for the ‘King George VI’ really is one of ifs, buts and maybes as its full of horses who may go elsewhere and others who are doubtful stayers! At this stage I wouldn’t want to look beyond a hat-trick for Long Run, Mr Henderson and the forum’s favourite Corinthian, Sam Waley-Cohen. Should he get the third win in the race, by the way, I don’t think a horse, or its connections, will ever have been cheered so much! Kempton Park will go Bonkers with a capital ‘B’.

Apart from when Kauto Star won his fifth and Dessie won his fifth <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Flemenstar would be my idea of the King George winner this time round IF he gets moved to a decent trainer

    Flemenstar... Read on...!!!

FLEMENSTAR could be on the move to Tony Martin with owner Stephen Curran unwilling to confirm the three-time Grade 1-winning chaser will be returning to trainer Peter Casey.

Rumours are rife that Flemenstar will be joining Martin for the new campaign and, while Curran would not comment on whether that was the case, the fact he could not guarantee the eight-year-old would be in the care of Casey suggests all is not well in the camp.

    Good news from Racing Post:

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY has enjoyed "his best week since his initial surgery," with the six-year-old pleasing connections in his recovery from his career-ending and life-threatening injury.

Sir Barney u really r full of twaddle - has Nicky the needle caught u with one of his horses or something as the need for all this adulation is quite disturbing ? :) I agree with Oddy nothing will ever beat Kauto winning his 5th no matter what the fiddler ever does !
