I really like the look of TASRIH and am really surprised the opening figures are around 7/1 so very good value and ew friendly queally takes the ride tomorrow I think I would have preferred harly but the appeal is with tasrih (very talented and quick on the all weather). The no8 as the last run is forgivable it was one fast run class 3 maybe a step to soon I really rate tasrih in running and the drop in distance could well see a swift return to glory.
the favourite smoke that thunders is quick but seems to pull of track here but even with morris onboard 7/2 looks risky.
Good luck all who play on a waterlogged day

Just an AW card at Kempton to rob us of our hard earned tomorrow but there is one that interests me.

SHE'S A LUCKY LADY 25-1 Kempton 7.20 had a couple of runs in the summer followed by a break. Then had a recent sharpener on the AW and now she is handicapped on a paltry 45. Bill Turner has his few winter runners going well at present and he legs up a seven pound claimer to help the cause. I would be the first to admit that she hasn't shown a great deal but it will be no big surprise if she doesn't show a whole lot more now taking to handicaps.

That 7 20 is a tricky race -many lightly raced types -check Conrad Allen's -form of its penultimate run -every horse in front of it has won -notice m Johnston is re opposing one who beat his last time! Tricky races there tomorrow-even the class 7 ones are dicey! Sorry bout the grammar-punctuation

I have a few bits to put up for Kempton tomorrow, some my own thoughts and some under the early money banner.

    7.20 Female Strategy 11-4
This is my idea of the bet of the day, It ran in what I believe will be an above average maiden last time, I suggest above average as so many were fancied in the race and were backed. This selection has got such a low mark however of 55 they have decided to go straight into handicaps and I think that is the right move from that mark, my feeling is its better than 55 for sure.

    5.50 Salford Prince 14-1 EW
Take this price immediately as I am certain it will start shorter and the horse has a far better chance than 14-1. He has shown enough when losing by 2 lengths to Medam (gone in again since) two runs back in a class 6 to suggest that this class 7 is well within his range. His last two runs here he has been drawn very badly in 11/13 and 13/13 but tomorrow is drawn 1. I think this horse is a cracking each way bet.

    Money horses
There has been a lot of money for the following two horses
    Addikt (non runner)
    Steel River

Is that the worst card ever at Kempton? 0-50s everywhere and then 3yo races with no form on offer. I shall give it a swerve thank you, and just hope the weather picks up before they start running multiple bumpers for jumpers meetings on the fibresand and polytrack.

‘Bumpers for jumpers’ card to be run at Kempers Park on Friday. Entries close at Noon today with final decs due tomorrow morning.

Calm down though, old boy, nothing wrong with a bumper for a jumper. At times the only way that the NH sphere can get a look in when old girl Mother Nature opts to do her thing.

Its not NH racing though is it? If they wanted to gallop their horses on the sand, they could give them a go on their own gallops at home. Its pointless to me, and whilst its good when you have long winters of snow/ice, I don't think they should be put on when we have a bit of waterlogging. Soon we will only run NH horses on soft going, anything worse (or better) than that and we will switch to bumpers for jumpers.

Why not go the whole way and run the Grand National over 2 miles, on the fibresand, and with a field of five horses? Well it is at least NH racing isn't it?

Yep, fair point although it may be worth bearing in mind that some trainers may wish to give their charges an alternative engagement, to the brutal slog of a 3 mile hurdle/chase on heavy ground, with the Festival or another target on the horizon. I do always wonder how many horses leave their Festival ambitions behind them after running in such races at this time of the year. A ‘prep’ should be just that not some hard slog which all but ruins the animal.

Talking of the old GN, by the way, I see another leading candidate is out. Auroras Encore has been retired after picking up a leg injury. The way being cleared, people, for Long Run.

Shame about Aurora's Encore, he was running a nice race the other day at Donny before weakening late on. Happy retirement to him <ok>

A stat that I read about the GN last year was that no winner of the past 10 GN's had gone on to win another race after their victory at Aintree... I suppose if Long Run was to run and win it this year SBC, would you put him out to grass asap...?

That's if he is good enough to win the GN mind...<whistle> :emoticon-0127-lipss

With 7 running in the 520 I have put a line thought 3 to 4 and was a little flamuxed that appache glory was 9s with morris onboard topweighted but well respected in what could be a tight finish so with 2 places available and ew odds on offer it will give me a little insentive to watch later

Perhaps we would put the forums favourite Corinthian out to grass with him.

Barney, long gone are the days of having to run a horse fit, these top horses are often wrapped in cotton wool and waited with for the festival. I don't see the need for these bumpers jumpers just yet, a few weeks of non racing then maybe. If they want to run the horses in flat races, I suggest that they can find many already on these 'AW' cards that would be suitable.
